There is no verified public figure for Kristen Stewart’s total pay across all five Twilight movies. The clearest published estimate says she earned $34.5 million from all sources between May 2011 and May 2012; that estimate included an estimated $12.5 million paycheck per Twilight installment, plus a stake in franchise profits. It is not a confirmed five-film total, and the figures should not be added together.
What the published figures say
| Figure | What it describes | How certain it is |
|---|---|---|
| $34.5 million | Stewart’s estimated total earnings between May 2011 and May 2012, as reported by Vanity Fair’s summary of Forbes’ 2012 calculation. | An annual earnings estimate, not a total for the five-film series. |
| $12.5 million per installment | An estimated paycheck per Twilight installment, with a stake in franchise profits, as described in the same 2012 report. | An estimate; it does not establish that Stewart received this amount for every film. |
| $25 million for the final two films, plus 7.5% of theatrical gross | Terms that TheWrap reported in 2011 for each of the three leads: Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner. | Summit Entertainment declined to confirm or deny the report. It is not a verified contract or a statement of the amount Stewart ultimately received. |
| At least ten times first-film pay | A 2010 report from Reuters, republished by ABC News Australia, said sources described Summit’s offers for the two Breaking Dawn films as at least ten times what the leads had earned on the first film. | The report gave neither Stewart’s first-film salary nor an exact offer amount, and Summit declined comment. |
Why there is no reliable five-film total
Stewart appeared in five Twilight films released between 2008 and 2012, according to The Guardian’s 2012 profile. But the available figures refer to different things: an estimate of earnings over one year, an estimated paycheck per installment, and reported terms for the final two films. The estimates may overlap, and the final-film terms were not confirmed. There is no complete public contract or disclosure establishing how much Stewart received from all five movies.
The Guardian profile also reports that Stewart said there was no talk of sequels, merchandise or large profit margins when she first signed on. That context does not establish her eventual compensation, and no direct quote from Stewart about the amount she was paid is reported in these sources.
Figures that are not Stewart’s salary
The Twilight franchise’s box-office performance is sometimes conflated with its star’s pay. The Guardian reported in 2012 that the first four films had earned more than $2 billion worldwide. That is box-office revenue, not money paid to Stewart.

Likewise, Forbes’ 2011 figure of $55.83 in film operating income per dollar paid to Stewart, reported by ABC News, is a return-on-investment estimate—not a paycheck, royalty or payment to the actor. Forbes calculated it using estimated compensation and operating income across each actor’s last three qualifying releases.

How to read the estimates
- Do not multiply $12.5 million by five. The report gives an estimated per-installment amount but does not establish that it applied to every film.
- Do not add the reported $25 million and 7.5% terms to the other estimates. The periods and definitions differ, and the terms were not confirmed.
- Distinguish box office and operating income from actor compensation. Those figures describe film or studio economics, not Stewart’s receipts.
