BTS has won zero Grammy Awards and received five nominations through the 2026 Grammy Awards, according to the Recording Academy’s artist profile. The nominations came in 2021, 2022 and 2023; none resulted in a win.
What were BTS’s five Grammy nominations?
The Recording Academy’s nomination record lists five nominations across three Grammy ceremonies:
| Grammy Awards | Category | Nominated work |
|---|---|---|
| 2021 (63rd) | Best Pop Duo/Group Performance | “Dynamite” |
| 2022 (64th) | Best Pop Duo/Group Performance | “Butter” |
| 2023 (65th) | Best Pop Duo/Group Performance | “My Universe” |
| 2023 (65th) | Best Music Video | “Yet to Come” |
| 2023 (65th) | Album of the Year | Music of the Spheres, credited to Coldplay |
The Album of the Year nomination was listed under Coldplay for Music of the Spheres. BTS’s nomination in that cycle was for its performance on “My Universe.”
Why nominations are not Grammy wins
A nomination means a work reached the finalist stage; it does not mean the artist won an award. The Recording Academy’s voting-process explainer describes submissions and eligibility screening, followed by voting to select nominees and then final voting to determine winners. The Academy says winners receive a Grammy Award, while nominees receive a Nominee Medallion and Certificate.

Does BTS’s 2027 Grammy decision change its total?
No. In July 2026, the Associated Press reported that BTS would not submit music for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards. That decision concerns a future award cycle and does not change the group’s historical total of zero wins and five nominations through the 2026 Grammy Awards.
In a coordinated Instagram note quoted by the AP, the members said: “We hope our music can be heard and loved for what it is, rather than being divided by region or language.” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. told the AP: “I am saddened to hear that BTS has chosen not to participate in the Grammy Awards process this year, but as a music creator, I understand and respect their decision.” The AP report was published in July 2026.
