The clearest like-for-like published comparison located is from the 2022 Sunday Times Giving List: Chris Martin was estimated to be worth £132 million, compared with £113 million each for Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion. That puts Martin £19 million ahead of each in that estimate set—not a confirmed measure of their current wealth.
What the 2022 estimates say
The Charities Aid Foundation’s reproduction of the 2022 Sunday Times Giving List provides the strongest directly comparable figures located for all four Coldplay members:

On those estimates, Martin’s lead is £19 million over each of the other three. Berryman, Buckland and Champion are tied in the list; it does not support ranking one above another. A separate 2024 ranking gives the same order
A 2024 South China Morning Post ranking, citing Celebrity Net Worth, estimated Martin’s net worth at US$160 million and each of Berryman, Buckland and Champion at US$100 million. It also places Martin first, with the other three tied, but it comes from a different source chain and uses a different currency and estimate year. Earlier estimates also put Martin ahead
The 2019 Sunday Times Giving List estimated Martin’s wealth at £102 million and that of each of the other three members at £90 million. This is another dated estimate set, not proof of how any member’s wealth changed between 2019 and 2022: the figures are estimates, and the list does not establish a member-by-member account of income, assets or liabilities. Does Martin earn more because he is the frontman?
The rankings establish an estimated wealth difference, but they do not explain its cause. Martin’s public profile may invite assumptions about his share of Coldplay’s earnings, yet the cited net-worth estimates do not show how much each member earns from songwriting, recordings, touring or other activities.
A 2011 Sunday Times feature, transcribed by Coldplaying, reported that the band split royalties equally despite Martin writing most of the lyrics. That is historical reporting, not confirmation of current contract terms or of how every revenue stream is divided. The band’s scale is not a substitute for individual financial records. A 2024 South China Morning Post article reported that Coldplay had sold more than 100 million albums worldwide, but album sales, company turnover and tour grosses are not the same as the personal wealth or take-home income of any one member. Expenses, taxes and business arrangements affect what individuals retain.

No audited current personal balance sheets for all four members are established by the available sources. Net-worth estimates can also differ according to how private assets and liabilities are valued. The evidence supports a repeated estimated ordering in the cited lists, not a precise explanation for Martin’s lead or a definitive present-day figure. (South China Morning Post, 2024)
