Her public-relations degree, radio experience and ability to tell wrestlers’ stories helped make that transition possible. Reports say her WWE contract ended on February 14, 2026; they do not establish what she did next.
Who is Quinn McKay?
Quinn McKay is a ring name Kelly Verbil used in Ring of Honor and on the independent wrestling scene. In WWE’s NXT, she worked as Kelly Kincaid. The names mark different chapters of the same career, not different people.
McKay’s path combined in-ring training with communications experience. In an interview, she said she first trained informally for three months at Mid-States Wrestling in Arkansas, then trained once a week for six months with Missouri’s now-defunct National Wrasslin’ League. Ace Steel connected her with the promotion. McKay also said she was technically the first woman signed to an ROH developmental contract; that is her account, rather than a claim independently documented by ROH in the sources cited here. Read McKay’s interview.
Why did Quinn McKay move into ROH interviewing?
McKay did not enter wrestling expecting to become an interviewer. She said she was initially disappointed when ROH offered her that role because she wanted to wrestle, and had developed an “edgy goth-jock” character. But ROH did not then have a backstage interviewer, and the position gave her a way to use skills she had built outside the ring.

Public relations and radio were the bridge
McKay had a degree in public relations and had hosted a mid-day show at a classic rock station in Springfield, Missouri. She said the move to interviewing felt relatively seamless and recalled that ROH saw promise in her promo ability. As she put it, “I have interviewing skills just sitting in the tank waiting to be used.”
The connection is practical: wrestling depends on conveying character and story, while interviews require listening, timing and helping someone communicate. McKay’s radio and PR experience gave her a foundation for that work, alongside her knowledge of wrestling. Her broadcasting role did not mean she had stopped loving the in-ring side. “I love to tell stories. I think that’s what it is about wrestling that I love so much,” she said.

Finding a style that felt like her
McKay said her first interview was scripted. After she was asked to conduct interviews on location and in one take, she felt more at home. She also wanted a distinctive visual signature for the role. The bowtie began as an afterthought and became part of her recognizable interviewer look. “I think it’s really important that every wrestler, or really every person in entertainment, has something they can identify with you,” she said. Of the bowtie, she added, “[That] an act of rebellion’s turned into something I’m known for is really cool.”

In February 2026, Kincaid said she would no longer be under contract with WWE as of February 14. Wrestling Inc. reported that her contract had expired and that WWE had moved her profile to its alumni roster section. That report said her subsequent plans had not been disclosed.
