There is no reliable public figure for the Tuohy family’s total earnings from Michael Oher’s career. The available reporting gives two narrower figures: a court filing reportedly said the family paid Oher more than $138,000 from proceeds connected to The Blind Side, while the Tuohys’ lawyers estimated that each of five family members received about $100,000. Neither figure establishes the family’s complete take, and the available reporting does not establish that the Tuohys received any share of Oher’s NFL salary.

Why the money became disputed
In an August 2023 petition, Oher alleged that Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy presented a conservatorship as an adoption and sought an accounting and payment of money he said he was owed. Those are allegations in his petition, not findings that establish how much anyone ultimately earned. Oher’s August 2023 petition.
The Tuohys denied wrongdoing. Their lawyers said proceeds from The Blind Side were divided among five people, including Oher, and gave the estimate of about $100,000 per person. That response conflicts with Oher’s account; it does not amount to an independently verified accounting.

Sean Tuohy was also reported as saying, “We didn’t make any money off the movie.” That is his attributed statement, not a settled financial finding. The later reporting on a court filing described payments to family members, but does not supply a complete accounting that reconciles the statements. What the conservatorship’s end means
A judge terminated the conservatorship in September 2023. The Associated Press reported at the time that the dispute over financial issues would continue. Ending the conservatorship did not itself determine the amount of story-related proceeds earned, paid, or owed. Associated Press coverage.

The cited reporting does not establish a comprehensive final accounting or a final resolution of the financial dispute. It therefore does not support a definitive number for the Tuohys’ total earnings from Oher’s career, a settlement amount, or a final judgment fixing what the family received. The defensible answer remains limited to the reported payment to Oher and the lawyers’ attributed estimate of proceeds per family member.
