Published estimates put Daniel Radcliffe’s compensation for the eight Harry Potter films at roughly $106 million to $108 million before taxes, but neither figure is an audited total. Per-film estimates vary, and the public sources reviewed do not establish what he received from merchandise royalties or other backend deals.

Reported earnings for each Harry Potter movie

The figures below are press estimates, not verified studio payroll records. Parade’s 2026 breakdown attributes its figures to Celebrity Net Worth; AlloCiné’s May 2026 article attributes its list to CBS. The sources disagree on Chamber of Secrets.

Film Release year Reported estimate
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (released as Philosopher’s Stone in some markets) 2001 $1 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets 2002 $3 million, Parade; $2 million, AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban 2004 $6 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire 2005 $11 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix 2007 $14 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince 2009 $24 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 2010 $25 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 2011 $25 million, listed by Parade and AlloCiné

These listed amounts total $106 million using AlloCiné’s $2 million second-film estimate, or $107 million using Parade’s $3 million figure. AlloCiné separately reports a $108 million total, so its total does not match its own itemized figures. The figures should not be silently combined or treated as precise.

Why the reported total is not a confirmed take-home amount

The often-repeated figure of about $108 million is a reported estimate of earnings across the franchise, not a verified net worth or an audited sum of Radcliffe’s film payments. AlloCiné also describes $95.6 million as what he “touched” after taxes, based on its account of CBS reporting. Parade has likewise described $95.6 million as the franchise total. The differing labels and arithmetic do not establish a precise amount banked after tax.

What the last two films’ contract estimate tells us

In June 2008, Forbes reported an estimated $50 million contract for Radcliffe to continue in the final two installments, after the last book was divided into two films. That contemporaneous estimate covers the pair; it does not disclose how the amount was allocated between the films or verify the later per-film estimates.

Forbes also listed $25 million as Radcliffe’s estimated “Pay” for June 2007 to June 2008. Forbes said its annual earnings estimates could include films, endorsements, and other ventures, were rounded, and did not deduct management, agent, or attorney fees. It is therefore not a salary figure for a single Potter movie.

What Radcliffe said about the reported fees

In a 2009 Guardian interview, Radcliffe was asked about a rumor that he began at £60,000 per film and later commanded £6 million. He replied, “Apparently. I don’t know. I don’t take an interest,” then said he felt lucky to be able to choose work and was “clueless about the money side of things.” His response does not confirm the rumored amounts.

Were merchandise royalties or backend payments included?

The sources reviewed do not establish whether Radcliffe received a specific royalty rate, how much he earned from Harry Potter merchandise, or whether his contracts included box-office participation. AlloCiné says its salary list excludes any possible box-office participation and does not establish whether merchandise payments were included. Parade says exact royalty figures are not publicly known. There is no verified published amount to add to the reported acting-compensation estimates.
