Yes—Holly Madison said she hated sex with Hugh Hefner when other women were in the room. But she drew a clear distinction: she described intimacy alone with Hefner as “a lot more normal than you would think.” Her remark was about group encounters, not every part of their relationship.
What Holly Madison said about group sex
In an episode of Owen Thiele’s In Your Dreams podcast published May 2, 2025, Madison contrasted being alone with Hefner and having other people in the room. E! quoted her saying: “Everybody else in the room? No, that was disgusting. I hated it. I made it very known that I hated it.” E!’s report on the interview attributes the statement to Madison.

She separately described one-on-one intimacy this way: “If it was just me and him, it was a lot more normal than you would think.” That distinction matters: her 2025 comment does not support saying she hated all sex with Hefner.
How her account relates to her earlier memoir
Madison had discussed the mansion’s “bedroom routine” in a 2015 interview about her memoir, Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny. She described encounters involving Hefner and multiple women, saying: “No, all the girls hated it and tried to get it over with as quickly as possible.” That is Madison’s characterization of the other women’s feelings, not independent confirmation that every participant felt the same way.

The reporting establishes what Madison said in interviews and how she described her own experience. The intimate events she recounts are personal recollections; the cited coverage does not independently verify what happened in the bedroom or establish that other women shared her view. The 2015 memoir interview and 2025 podcast comments are separate accounts made years apart, so they should not be collapsed into a single contemporaneous record.

Coverage also differs on when Madison’s relationship with Hefner ended: E! gives 2007, while Fox News gives 2008. Fox News’s May 2025 account provides the latter timeline; the exact endpoint is not necessary to understand her comments.
