Its mix of digital performers, live music, choreography, and audience participation offers a vivid example of how VTubers can become performers and community focal points. The official account documents the crowd’s chants, singing, and clapping; it does not establish an attendance total or measure a broader change in VTuber popularity.
What was Breaking Dimensions?
hololive English 2nd Concert -Breaking Dimensions- took place August 24–25, 2024, at Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, New York. COVER Corporation described it as the first VTuber live performance at the historic theater, which opened in 1929. The event brought digital characters to a physical venue, while an online ticketed stream offered another way to watch at the time.

All 15 then-performing hololive English talents appeared across the two-day program. Guests included Inugami Korone and Hoshimachi Suisei from hololive, and Moona Hoshinova and Kobo Kanaeru from hololive Indonesia. Across solo, unit, and cover performances, the set list comprised 34 songs, according to the official post-event report.
How the show brought digital performers into a theater
The appeal was not simply seeing familiar characters on a large screen. The concert combined songs with choreography, group formations, guest performances, and stage concepts that shifted through “The Past,” “The Present,” and “The Future.” Those changes gave the program a progression and a shared setting, rather than making it feel like a sequence of unrelated online appearances.

That format also made the audience part of the event. COVER’s account describes fans chanting “BAU BAU” for Fuwawa and Mococo, singing a chorus with Ceres Fauna, and clapping along to “BLUE CLAPPER.” It reports that Day 1 ended with an encore, followed by “Connect the World” after a special film and the message “Together to the future.” These details come from the organizer’s own report, not an independent audience study, but they show how the show invited participation as well as attention.

VTuber concerts join two kinds of performance: music presented by a digital persona and the social experience of fans gathering around that persona. A chant, a shared chorus, or a response to an encore is more than a reaction to a screen; it is a way for attendees to recognize one another as part of the same fandom. In that sense, Breaking Dimensions makes the communal side of VTuber culture unusually concrete.
The evidence supports a focused conclusion: the concert staged a substantial live music event and its organizer recorded moments of audience participation. It does not show how many people attended or watched online, whether the theater sold out, or whether the event increased VTuber popularity overall. Those claims would require figures or independent evidence beyond the published event reports.
How to revisit the concert now
The original ticketed stream and its archive were time-limited. COVER’s 2024 announcement listed streaming tickets at JPY 7,150 for one day or JPY 13,200 for both days, with the archive window ending September 25, 2024 EDT. Those were historical prices and terms, not current viewing options. The original event details and ticket terms appear in COVER’s June 2024 announcement.
A later physical release was announced through the official shop in May 2025. The official shop’s concert Blu-ray page is the relevant place to check for current listing and availability; stock and purchase terms can change. The announcement does not establish an Amazon listing or its price.
