Her father, Jason Kilburn, said he was told the name had been generated by a computer system. By March 7, 2025, he had obtained access to her Social Security number, but reporting still described her birth certificate and name change as unresolved.
How the name entered the story
Futurism reported on March 2, 2025, that the toddler’s recorded legal name was “Unakite Thirteen Hotel.” The report said she had been abandoned as a newborn and that her father, Jason Kilburn, was later confirmed as her biological father and given custody. Kilburn described the computer-generated-name explanation as what he had been told; the report did not independently document which software or process created the name. Futurism’s March 2 account
The unusual name mattered because the family was trying to obtain usable identity documents, not simply because it drew attention. Kilburn told Futurism that he could not get a Social Security number for his daughter, which he said complicated efforts to pursue health insurance and child care. Those were the circumstances reported for this family, not a general statement about every case involving an unusual birth record.
What happened with the Social Security number
On February 26, 2025, KETV reported that Kilburn had obtained access to his daughter’s Social Security number. His attorney said getting a birth certificate was the next step. KETV’s February 26 update

Were the birth certificate and name change completed?
The latest status established by the reporting here is KETV’s March 7, 2025 follow-up: the family was still seeking a birth certificate and intended to pursue a name change after obtaining it. Attorney Joshua Livingston said, “Hopefully, once we have the birth certificate, the name change should follow shortly thereafter.” KETV’s March 7 follow-up
That report does not confirm that either step was later completed. The child’s current legal name and the eventual status of the birth-certificate correction are therefore not established by these accounts.

What the case does—and does not—show
The reporting documents one family’s difficulty navigating identity records after an unusual name appeared on a child’s record. It does not establish how often hospitals or government systems assign placeholder names, nor does it support a broader claim about how common such cases are. The careful distinction is that Kilburn reported being told the name was computer-generated, while the reporting confirms the name appeared in records and describes the family’s efforts to obtain documents and change it.
