It was one of 30 selections across the awards’ categories—not the category winner or a numbered entry in an overall ranking. Set among the forests and coast near William Bay National Park, the off-grid cabin stay is designed for visitors who want a quieter base for exploring the Great Southern.
What the National Geographic recognition means
PerthNow reported on 3 October 2025 that the awards had ten categories, with one winner and two runners-up in each. Time Out Australia reported that an expert panel of eight travel writers selected the places. Heyscape Denmark’s distinction is specifically a runner-up in Remote Escape, not a claim that it was ranked among the world’s hotels by a published numerical scoring system.
PerthNow quoted National Geographic’s description of the setting: “Distant waves crashing on granite rocks and wind rustling through karri trees lull guests to sleep at Heyscape Denmark, a collection of three off-grid cabins scattered over the hills of a regenerative cattle farm,” PerthNow, 3 October 2025. The quotation captures the appeal behind the category: a rural, nature-led stay rather than a conventional full-service hotel.
Where Heyscape Denmark is—and what surrounds it
The property is on Raintree Estate in Denmark, Western Australia, in the Great Southern region—not in the European country. Heyscape describes the estate as close to William Bay National Park and The Dam restaurant. Its property information points guests toward nearby beaches, bush trails and coastal coves; the award coverage likewise evokes karri forest, granite coast and quiet swimming spots.

From Perth, Heyscape estimates the journey at 415–425 kilometres and around 4.5–5 hours by car, commonly via Albany Highway. Those are estimates, not fixed travel times: traffic, road conditions and stops affect the trip. National Geographic’s description, as quoted by PerthNow, calls the location “five hours south of Perth” and highlights forest walks and quiet coves.
Cabin options and facilities
Heyscape currently lists one-bedroom and two-bedroom cabins, including valley-view options that sleep up to four guests, as well as pet-friendly accommodation. The exact layout, permitted occupancy, pet eligibility and price depend on the cabin and dates selected, so compare those details in the official booking calendar before reserving.

The property page lists self-contained amenities including a queen bed and linen, kitchenette, Nespresso coffee maker, shower, toilet, barbecue and private outdoor bathtub. The setting and facilities are intended to make time at the cabin part of the escape, alongside excursions into the surrounding forest and coast.
What guests can do during a stay
Heyscape presents nearby nature walks, coastal coves and swimming, and outdoor bathing as features of the experience. The operator also describes The Dam restaurant and optional marron experiences. These are operator-described offerings, and restaurant availability or seasonal activities should not be assumed to be included with a cabin booking; check directly for current details.

The off-grid label is used by Heyscape and in the award coverage. It describes the character of the accommodation, but does not by itself establish a quantified environmental impact or guarantee a particular level of connectivity or power use.
Booking, minimum stays and cancellation terms
Heyscape’s Denmark page lists check-in from 3:30 p.m. and checkout before 10 a.m. A two-night minimum normally applies; public holidays may require a three- or four-night stay. Rates vary by cabin type and season, so the official calendar is the appropriate source for dates, availability and the price of a specific booking.

PerthNow reported a starting price of A$520 per night on 3 October 2025. That is a dated news figure, not a current quote. Heyscape’s page describes cancellations up to 30 days before arrival as eligible for a full refund less a 5% administration fee; rescheduling or a 50% refund may be available up to seven days before. Terms can depend on the selected dates and booking, so read the conditions presented at checkout.

Connectivity and what to bring
Heyscape’s company-wide FAQ says most of its cabins do not have Wi-Fi, mobile reception depends on the provider, and cabins use solar power, with guests asked to be mindful of energy use. Because that guidance covers multiple properties, confirm Denmark-specific connectivity and power details with Heyscape before travel if they matter to your plans. The FAQ says linen, towels and basic bathroom and kitchen items are supplied, while guests should bring usual getaway essentials such as sunscreen and insect repellent.
Is this the right kind of remote escape?
Heyscape Denmark is a strong fit for travelers seeking a self-contained cabin, time outdoors and a quieter coastal-and-forest setting, rather than a hotel with a broad set of on-site services. The category recognition draws attention to that particular appeal; it does not replace checking cabin suitability, travel logistics, current activities and booking conditions for your dates.
