Rolling Stone UK described the appearance as Styles’s first live performance since the end of his Love On Tour in 2023. It was a return to the stage, not the start of a newly announced tour.
Why Nicks dedicated “Landslide” to Christine McVie
McVie died in November 2022, aged 79. The Hyde Park performance fell on what would have been her 81st birthday. Nicks spoke about her grief and the role of performing, telling the crowd, as Rolling Stone UK reported: “That’s what I’ve been doing ever since Chris passed away, is running to the stage. The only people that have been able to help me to get over this has been all of you.”

Virgin Radio UK reported Nicks introducing Styles’s part in the tribute this way: “I asked Harry to do this with me and it’s a lot to ask someone to sing a heavy song about a best friend that died so suddenly and so sadly.” It also quoted her saying: “Christine was Harry’s girl, she was my girl, she was your girl, and she loved all of you, and today would’ve been her birthday.”
Published accounts render parts of Nicks’s remarks differently. The quotations above follow the wording attributed to her by the named outlets; they are reported remarks, not a separately verified official transcript.

Styles and Nicks had performed together before
The Hyde Park duet was not their first time sharing a stage. Rolling Stone UK notes that they performed “Landslide” together in Los Angeles in 2019 and sang “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” at that year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The 2024 appearance brought the two songs together in a tribute to McVie.
