Shark Week 2025 ran July 20–26 on Discovery Channel. The historical U.S. schedule below lists each premiere in Eastern Time, from the Sunday opener, Dancing With Sharks, to Saturday’s final program, Battle for Shark Mountain. Descriptions are promotional summaries, not independently verified scientific findings.
Discovery called the 2025 event its 37th annual Shark Week and announced a Sunday, July 20 launch at 8 p.m. ET/PT with Dancing with Sharks. The schedule report lists 20 premiere slots across the week; that count is not the same as 20 hours of program runtime. Discovery’s announcement, syndicated by BroadwayWorld, described the event as 20 hours of new specials. BroadwayWorld’s report of Discovery’s announcement also said Warner Bros. Discovery reported more than 25 million viewers for the prior year, without methodology in the cited passage.

The schedule was published in Eastern Time. These are past broadcast listings, not a current guide to streaming availability. Forbes’ schedule report says the episode descriptions were provided by Discovery; dramatic premises and claims below should be read as program framing rather than established scientific conclusions.
Sunday, July 20
- 8 p.m. ET — Dancing With Sharks. Five divers compete in underwater routines with sharks, including hammerheads, tiger sharks, and nurse sharks. Tom Bergeron hosts. Discovery’s launch announcement highlighted the program as the opening-night premiere.
- 9 p.m. ET — Air Jaws: The Hunt for Colossus. A reported great-white breach in New Zealand prompts a search for Colossus, a shark said to have disappeared from South African waters a decade earlier.
- 10 p.m. ET — Great White Assassins. Shark experts Alison Towner and Dickie Chivell investigate how orcas prey on great white sharks.
Monday, July 21
- 8 p.m. ET — Great White Sex Battle. A competition format compares male and female great white sharks off New Zealand.
- 9 p.m. ET — Jaws vs. Mega Croc. Tristan Guttridge, Rosie Moore, and Dr. Sora Kim use experimental data to build a CGI matchup between a great white shark and a Nile crocodile. The contest is a television device, not an actual animal fight.
- 10 p.m. ET — In the Eye of the Storm: Shark Storm. The program recounts a 2024 cluster of shark attacks on the U.S. Gulf Coast through accounts from victims and witnesses.
Tuesday, July 22
- 8 p.m. ET — Great White North Invasion. A team tracks and tags great white sharks off Nova Scotia. Discovery’s earlier announcement styled the title “Great White Northern Invasion”; check the final listing if exact title wording matters.
- 9 p.m. ET — How To Survive A Shark Attack. Survivor Paul de Gelder takes part in supervised scenarios intended to explore shark encounters and survival tactics.
- 10 p.m. ET — Black Mako of the Abyss. Experts investigate a reported dark-skinned shark and consider whether it is a mako, a mutant, or a possible mako–great white hybrid. Those possibilities are promotional framing, not an established identification.
Wednesday, July 23
- 8 p.m. ET — Expedition Unknown: Shark Files. Josh Gates investigates shark mysteries, including the real-life case described as an inspiration for Jaws.
- 9 p.m. ET — Expedition X: Malpelo Monster Shark. Phil Torres and Heather Amaro search near Colombia’s Malpelo Island for a reportedly large shark.
- 10 p.m. ET — Alien Sharks: Death Down Under. Wildlife biologist Forrest Galante explores unusual sharks in Australian waters, including Port Jackson sharks and ghost sharks. The promotional description mentions a venom experiment; it is not medical or safety guidance.
Thursday, July 24
- 8 p.m. ET — Surviving Jaws. Marine biologist Tom “Blowfish” Hird and predator ecologist Michelle Jewell revisit Jaws and examine shark-related questions.
- 9 p.m. ET — Caught! Sharks Strike Back. This compilation-style special presents shark encounters captured on camera, including a shark striking a fisherman and a great white following a kayaker.
- 10 p.m. ET — Frankenshark. Tristan Guttridge and his team use CGI to create a composite predator and stage a matchup against an orca.
Friday, July 25
- 8 p.m. ET — Great White Reign of Terror. Ryan Johnson, Gibbs Kuguru, and Andy Casagrande investigate reported great-white incidents near South Africa’s Eastern Cape.
- 9 p.m. ET — Florida’s Death Beach. Forrest Galante and his team investigate shark encounters at New Smyrna Beach, Florida. The schedule report repeats a claim that the beach accounts for 30% of global shark attacks, but the cited material does not establish the figure against a primary incident dataset, so it is not included as fact here.
- 10 p.m. ET — Bull Shark Showdown. The program compares bull sharks from Australia and the United States, featuring Paul de Gelder and Dr. Craig O’Connell.
Saturday, July 26
- 8 p.m. ET — Attack of the Devil Shark. A team investigates reported tiger-shark attacks near St. Martin and a local legend called the Devil Shark; the legend and narrative are presented as the program’s premise.
- 9 p.m. ET — Battle for Shark Mountain. The program follows sharks hunting giant trevally near Mozambique. Its description says 5,000 trevally fight back; that number is promotional copy, not an independently checked ecological statistic.
