Did Heidi Montag’s conflict with Lauren Conrad cause the filing?
Montag later spoke about tensions surrounding her relationship with Pratt and the breakdown of her friendship with Lauren Conrad. In an April 2023 interview, she recalled feeling that Conrad’s reaction to her relationship with Spencer was unfair. An April 2026 episode listing says Montag discussed how she met Pratt, communication, and how they prioritize their relationship and family. Those later topics show that they publicly discussed their partnership years afterward, not why the divorce filing happened: April 2026 episode listing.
In a 2025 interview, Pratt also said Montag urged him to leave a reality competition after he had gone several days without sleep because she was concerned about his mental health. That later account is an example of reported concern between them, not evidence about the filing: TV Insider interview.
