Where Miranda is in the story
The movie accounts for Miranda’s absence by saying she is on a family vacation in Mexico. That is the character’s explanation within the story; it is separate from the reported real-world reason Lalaine did not appear.

Was there a feud or a studio dispute?
The cited accounts do not establish that a personal dispute or a specific studio decision kept Lalaine out of the film. The supported explanation is her other work at the time, as described in retrospective reporting of her interview; the movie itself gives Miranda a vacation as her reason for being away.
