Hang Time was an NBC teen sitcom about students at Deering High School and its basketball team. It ran from 1995 to 2000, but the sources available here do not verify what its cast members look like today or provide reliable updates on their current careers. The clearest retrospective is therefore about who played whom and how the ensemble changed over the show’s run.

The series followed students connected to Deering High School’s basketball team. TV Guide lists the show as a comedy and sports series running from 1995 to 2000. Who was in the early cast?
The season-one cast included the following performers and characters. The roles are useful anchors for identifying the original ensemble; they do not mean each performer appeared throughout all six seasons.
| Performer | Character | Tenure supported by the sources |
|---|---|---|
| Daniella Deutscher | Julie Connor | Listed in the series cast and season-one cast. |
| Megan Parlen | Mary-Beth Pepperton (also styled Mary Beth) | Listed in the series cast and season-one cast. |
| Chad Gabriel | Danny Mellon | Seasons one through three, according to the season-by-season guide. |
| Reggie Theus | Coach Bill Fuller | Seasons one through three, according to the season-by-season guide. |
| David Hanson | Chris Atwater | Listed in the season-one cast. |
| Hillary Tuck | Samantha Morgan | Listed in the season-one cast. A catalog source varies the spelling to “Hilary”; the available evidence does not establish a preferred current professional spelling. |
| Christian Belnavis | Michael Maxwell | Listed in the season-one cast. |
| Robert Michael Ryan | Earl Hatfield | Listed in the season-one cast. |
Which actors joined in later seasons?
The cast changed as the series continued, so a single undifferentiated “cast” list can suggest a continuity that the episode guide does not support. Later cast members included Kevin Bell (Josh Sanders), Paige Peterson (Amy Wright), Michael Sullivan (Vince D’Amata), Anthony Anderson (Teddy Brodis), Adam Frost (Michael Manning), Amber Barretto (Kristy Ford), Dick Butkus (Coach Mike Katowinski), Mark Famiglietti (Nick Hammer), Danso Gordon (Kenny “Silk” Hayes), Jay Hernandez (Antonio Lopez), Phillip Glasser (Eugene Brown), and James Villani. The sources give inconsistent spellings for Villani’s character name, so it is not stated here.

Epguides separates several additions by season, and a 2025 retrospective likewise distinguishes early and later cast members. The available evidence does not establish every listed actor’s exact season range, so no narrower tenure is assigned here.
What is verified about the cast today?
The cast and role listings establish who appeared in the show, but they do not establish what each performer looks like now, their current occupation, or their latest projects. The source material does not provide recent attributable interviews, official professional profiles, or direct statements covering the ensemble. It would be misleading to present old credits or unverified profile-aggregator entries as current updates.
That means the “today” part of the title cannot be answered responsibly with a verified then-and-now account for these actors from the evidence available. This article identifies the documented roles and cast changes rather than guessing about appearances or personal lives.
