Hawkeye Season 2 has not been officially confirmed by Marvel Studios. A January 2026 report attributed to Daniel Richtman said the series was still in development, but consulting producer Andrew Guest later said the team had explored a second season creatively and that the timing and other pieces did not come together. An August 2026 report still noted no official announcement.
What the Season 2 report actually says
On January 8, 2026, Mandatory reported that Hawkeye Season 2 remained in development, attributing the claim to entertainment scooper Daniel Richtman. The same report said Marvel Studios had not officially confirmed the project. “In development” in this context is a sourced report, not evidence of a renewal announcement, production start, or release plan.
What producer Andrew Guest said
In an interview published January 23, 2026, Hawkeye consulting producer Andrew Guest said the team had discussed and creatively explored what a second season might look like. He also said the timing and the various pieces that needed to come together at Marvel did not align. That account confirms creative exploration at some point; it does not establish that Marvel ordered a season or that one is currently in production.
“There was talk at a certain point about… we did explore creatively what Season 2 of ‘Hawkeye’ might be if we were able to do it. Unfortunately, the timing didn’t work out in terms of Marvel and all the various pieces that need to come together, but I loved working on ‘Hawkeye.’ I think [Jeremy] Renner and Hailee Steinfeld are so terrific together, and I would love to see more of those two.”

Has Marvel announced a renewal?
No official Season 2 announcement is established in the available updates. An August 2026 GamesRadar+ report likewise said there had been no official word on a second season. The cryptic costume image discussed in that report should not be treated as confirmation that the series is returning.

The evidence has three distinct levels: an attributed industry report that the project remained in development, a producer’s retrospective account of creative exploration and timing problems, and an official studio announcement—which has not been made in these sources. No new-season cast, plot, production start, or release window is confirmed by those updates.
What is the existing Hawkeye series about?
Disney+ lists Hawkeye as a 2021 Marvel Studios series with one season and six episodes. Set in post-Blip New York during Christmas, it follows Clint Barton as he tries to get home to his family and teams up with skilled archer Kate Bishop when a threat from his past and a criminal conspiracy pull them into danger. The series stars Jeremy Renner as Clint and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate.

Until Marvel makes an official announcement, the accurate takeaway is that a report described Season 2 as still in development, while Guest’s account points to creative exploration that did not progress because the timing and necessary pieces did not align.
