On Hasbro’s February 2026 earnings call, Cocks said AI could help with finance, operations, inventory management, and forecasting, and claimed it was speeding toy concepting and early prototyping. Those impact figures are management estimates, not independently verified results.
Where Hasbro says it is using AI
On Hasbro’s Q4 and FY 2025 earnings call on February 10, 2026, Cocks framed AI primarily as a productivity tool. He named finance, operations, inventory management, and forecast planning as areas where the company was applying it. His description points to AI-assisted business processes, rather than establishing that every task in those departments is automated or handled by AI.
“Short term, I think AI is just a productivity boom. And that’ll affect every industry,” Cocks said on the call. Hasbro’s own 2025 strategy had already listed “AI and digital advancement” among broader operational initiatives, alongside systems modernization, supply chain excellence, and design acceleration. What Hasbro claims AI is changing in toy development
Cocks also described AI-supported toy concepting and early prototyping. He said Hasbro’s ability to turn a concept into an early prototype had become about 10 times faster, making it possible to explore more concepts in the same time and at the same cost. The transcript does not explain how the speed figure was measured, so it should be read as Cocks’s account of the company’s workflow—not a published independent test.

The claim concerns the early stages of development: generating and realizing concepts as prototypes. It does not establish that finished toys are designed or manufactured entirely by AI, or that AI replaces the human design and product-development process. The Motley Fool earnings-call transcript.

How to read the productivity figures
On the same February 2026 call, Cocks said Hasbro expected AI to save about one million people-hours of work in 2026. That is a forward-looking company estimate, not an independently validated outcome. The transcript does not provide a measurement method or a breakdown of the projected hours by department.
Hasbro’s 2025 Playing to Win announcement also set goals for reaching more than 750 million kids, families, and fans by 2027, up from more than 500 million at the time, and projected average mid-single-digit revenue growth and annual operating-margin improvement of 50–100 basis points through 2027. These were company targets for the wider strategy, not reported results of AI use. Hasbro’s 2024 financial results discussed operational efficiencies but did not attribute them specifically to AI, so they do not establish an AI-driven financial effect. Company AI use is not the same as AI-generated game content
AI in business operations or toy concepting does not, by itself, mean that AI is being used to create published game content. In a 2026 interview reported by PC Gamer, Cocks said Hasbro was not using AI in the creative pipelines for its video games, Magic: The Gathering, or D&D, citing creators and audiences who did not want it. That statement describes the pipelines as he characterized them in that interview; it is distinct from his comments about internal productivity and toy development.
Cocks separately said he uses AI-generated animation, images, text, sound effects, and voice cloning in his own D&D games. His personal game preparation is not evidence that Hasbro uses those materials in published D&D books or products. PC Gamer’s March 2026 interview report.

What the reported Sixth Wall initiative means
In June 2026, Axios reported that Hasbro was setting up Sixth Wall, a business-to-business effort to license AI versions of its characters. That is a separate initiative from the operational and toy-development uses Cocks described on the earnings call. Axios said the effort was not aimed at children under 13 and that safety considerations were still under discussion.
