Beatrice McCartney, the daughter of Heather Mills and Paul McCartney, has largely stayed out of public view. In interviews in 2015 and 2016, Mills said she had protected her daughter’s image and described Beatrice as uninterested in fame. But the claim that Beatrice is “nothing like” her father goes too far: Mills also spoke of her daughter’s musicality and poetry.
Who is Beatrice McCartney?
Beatrice is the daughter of Heather Mills and Paul McCartney. Entertainment Tonight reported that she was born in 2003. Mills and McCartney married in 2002, separated in 2006 and divorced in 2008, according to the same report. Entertainment Tonight’s 2016 report is the source for those details.
Why has Beatrice stayed out of the spotlight?
Mills said in a 2016 interview that she rarely spoke about her daughter and was proud to have kept her image protected. Entertainment Tonight quoted her: “I rarely talk about my daughter. I’m really proud of the fact that I have kept her image protected.” The comment describes Mills’s approach to discussing Beatrice; it does not provide a direct account from Beatrice herself.
In a 2015 interview with The Guardian, Mills characterized her daughter’s attitude toward celebrity in direct terms: “Beatrice hates fame and the whole limelight thing.” Mills also said Beatrice wanted to be a marine biologist rather than a pop star. Those remarks are a snapshot of what Mills said at the time, not confirmation of Beatrice’s present-day plans or views. The Guardian’s 2015 interview was conducted by Nick McGrath.

Is Beatrice really “nothing like” Paul McCartney?
The available comments support a limited contrast: Mills portrayed Beatrice as disliking fame, while Paul McCartney is a prominent public figure. They do not establish that father and daughter are broadly unlike one another. In the same Guardian interview, Mills described Beatrice as musical, said she had taught her saxophone, and called her a “brilliant poet like her father.”
Mills also quoted her daughter as saying, “Beatrice says she’s 99% me.” That is Mills’s recollection, not a statement made directly to the interviewer by Beatrice. Taken together, her comments present a more nuanced picture than the headline’s absolute comparison: a daughter reportedly wary of celebrity, yet described by her mother as sharing creative qualities with her father.

What does “miracle child” mean here?
Entertainment Tonight’s 2016 coverage reports that Mills called Beatrice her “miracle child.” The report does not establish a medical explanation for the phrase, so it should be understood as Mills’s affectionate description rather than evidence of specific circumstances.

The public details here come from Mills’s interviews in 2015 and 2016 and from Entertainment Tonight’s 2016 report. They do not establish Beatrice’s current occupation, education, lifestyle, location or present-day opinions. The most accurate account is therefore narrow: Mills said she had sought to protect her daughter’s privacy and reported that Beatrice disliked fame, while also describing her as creative and musical.
