Are HBO Max standalone prices going up today?
There is no evidence in the available official pricing information of a standalone HBO Max increase taking effect on October 8, 2026. HBO Max’s U.S. plan listing shows these prices; applicable taxes are extra:

What changed with the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle?
A reported price increase applies to the combined Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max subscription, not to standalone HBO Max. Tom’s Guide reported that the bundle’s monthly prices increased for new subscribers on September 23, 2026:

According to Tom’s Guide’s 2026 report, existing subscribers are expected to see the higher price on billing cycles on or after October 21, 2026. The reported timing is not definitive official notice: check the notice for your subscription and the billing account that manages it, particularly if you subscribed through a third party.

How to check which price applies to your account
- Identify whether you pay for standalone HBO Max or the Disney+, Hulu, and HBO Max bundle. They are different subscriptions with different prices.
- Check your subscription or billing account for the plan name, billing frequency, and next charge date.
- If you have the bundle, consult the price-change notice sent to the account that manages billing. The reported October timing may differ for subscribers billed through another provider.
- Compare the charge with the applicable monthly or annual price and account for taxes, which the official standalone plan listing says are not included.
