Xbox announced a global launch for July 28, 2026, at 8 a.m. PDT. Japan and select Asia-Pacific markets were listed for July 29. The date was announced by Halo Studios Community Director Brian Jarrard in an Xbox Wire post dated June 7, 2026.
Premium and Collector’s Edition owners received early access beginning July 23 at 8 a.m. PDT; the corresponding date in the noted Japan and Asia-Pacific markets was July 24. An Xbox Wire update on July 23 confirmed early access had begun.

Where else can you play it?
Xbox announced the game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and cloud. The announcement said it would be included day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Eligible owners can use Xbox Play Anywhere to play on console and PC without additional cost. Cross-play and cross-progression were announced across Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, Steam and PS5.
