Who was in the Coldplay kiss-cam video?
The video was filmed at a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 16, 2025—not in Boston proper. Astronomer identified the people shown as its then-CEO Andy Byron and chief people officer Kristin Cabot. The Guardian’s account also records the company’s response and corrected the concert’s location.
What did Kristin Cabot say about her conduct?
In an account reported by The New York Times and reproduced by The Indian Express, Cabot called her behavior a bad decision. She said: “I made a bad decision and had a couple of High Noons and danced and acted inappropriately with my boss.” She also said she was “so embarrassed and so horrified.”
The Indian Express reported that Cabot said Andrew had “been nothing but a gentleman.” It also relayed her account of harassment and threats affecting her and her family. Those are her descriptions of the personal aftermath, not independently measured findings.

What did Andrew Cabot’s representative say about the separation?
Andrew Cabot’s spokesperson told People, as reported by LBC, that the couple had “already separated” amicably several weeks before the concert. The spokesperson also said their “decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening.”
That statement offers the representative’s account of the couple’s relationship at the time; it does not establish the legal status of their marriage or the final outcome of a divorce. The reporting cited here does not establish that outcome.

How did Astronomer respond?
Astronomer said it had initiated a formal investigation after the video circulated. In a statement quoted by The Guardian, the company said: “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability. The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”
On July 19, Astronomer announced that Byron had tendered his resignation and that the board had accepted it. The company said: “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted.” It added that leadership had recently failed its expected standard for conduct and accountability. The Guardian reported the announcement.

The Indian Express later reported that Cabot also resigned. The company’s statements about the investigation and Byron’s resignation are distinct from Cabot’s later account and Andrew Cabot’s spokesperson’s account of the couple’s separation.

- Astronomer said a purported apology attributed to Byron was false. It also said another employee named in online speculation was not at the event; speculation about other people should not be treated as fact.
The Associated Press reported that online speculation led to mistaken identification and harassment after the clip spread. The episode is a reminder that viral footage can expose people to intense attention while also prompting false claims about people who were not involved.
