Guy Sebastian released 100 Times Around The Sun on 8 August 2025, describing it as a personal record about the people he wants around him through life’s turns. His departure from The Voice Australia after six years was a decision to make more room for writing and performing music—not an exit from television or live performance. Alongside the album, he launched IVE, a men’s eau de toilette named for his father.
What is Guy Sebastian’s new album?
100 Times Around The Sun arrived on 8 August 2025 through Sony Music Entertainment Australia. TheMusic described it as his first album in four years and the follow-up to 2020’s T.R.U.T.H.; Rolling Stone AU/NZ identifies it as his tenth studio album. TheMusic’s album announcement and Rolling Stone AU/NZ’s release-day interview cover the record’s release and background.

Sebastian said he worked on it over several years, across Sydney, Los Angeles, Bali and Nashville. He described the result as personal and lyrical, shaped by love, life, joy and the close circle of people who matter to him. The title expresses that idea: “And if I had a thousand lifetimes, a thousand times, one hundred times around the sun, I would want this same circle. And that’s pretty much what the album’s about,” he told Rolling Stone AU/NZ.
How the songs took shape
The album announcement arrived with “Cupid”; the earlier-released “Maybe” was also part of the album’s lead-up. Sebastian said “Cupid” took about four years to finish and went through many versions, according to TheMusic. The extended process fits his account of wanting enough lived experience to make a body of work that felt genuinely his, rather than rushing to complete it.

Why did Guy Sebastian leave The Voice Australia?
In October 2024, Sebastian announced he would take a break from coaching on The Voice Australia after six years. He said he wanted to commit more time to “writing and performing new music,” as reported by TheMusic. His stated reason was to focus on music, not a public dispute with the show.
In a 7 August 2025 interview with PerthNow, Sebastian reflected that dwelling on the departure could have made him resent the decision, though he expected to miss the show when it aired. That is his personal reflection, not an announcement by the broadcaster.

IVE is Sebastian’s men’s eau de toilette, named after his father, Ivan. Sebastian told PerthNow that the name was a tribute to his father and recalled the scent left behind after his father went to work. He said he wanted to create a sophisticated but affordable men’s fragrance. Launch coverage reported it would be available at Chemist Warehouse from 8 August 2025.
Retailer-listed scent notes
Descriptions of IVE’s scent come from the interview and retailer product information, not an independent wear test. PerthNow described spice, tobacco and leather. Chemist Warehouse’s current 100 ml listing gives a fuller note description:
- Top notes: Italian lemon, cardamom and black pepper.
- Middle notes: tobacco leaves, rosewood and olibanum resin.
- Dry-down notes: leather accord, cypress and patchouli.
Amcal also lists a 100 ml IVE EDT. Retail availability and stock can change; the listings do not establish current price, fragrance longevity or how it performs on an individual wearer.
What has Sebastian done since leaving The Voice?
Leaving the coaching chair did not mean leaving television or performance. In a 30 March 2026 profile, ABC News described Sebastian as a judge on ABC TV’s The Piano and reported that he was preparing for the 100 Times Around The Sun national tour. He also discussed learning piano by ear to accompany students while teaching singing, and its continuing place in his songwriting.
TheMusic’s event section has listed additional 2026 performances, including November and December dates. Because event schedules and ticket availability can change, check the relevant venue or ticket seller for current status before making plans.
