What “first-ever guest character” means
Bandai Namco described Lucy as the first guest character in the Guilty Gear series and called the collaboration a “first-ever content collaboration for the Guilty Gear series,” made alongside Cyberpunk: Edgerunners producer CD PROJEKT RED. That wording refers to a guest-character collaboration; it should not be read as a claim that the franchise had never had any other cross-promotional content. Bandai Namco Europe’s announcement introduced Lucy as the final Season Pass 4 character.

When Lucy released and how to get her
Lucy became available after maintenance on August 21, 2025, with Version 1.48. Arc System Works’ Version 1.48 patch notes list two access routes:
- Purchase the individual “Lucy” DLC item.
- Purchase “GGST Season Pass 4,” which includes Lucy as its final character.
The official product listing identifies the add-on as “GGST Additional Character #17 Lucy (Cyberpunk: Edgerunners)” and says it grants access to Lucy. The individual add-on and Season Pass 4 are separate purchase options. Check the listing for your platform and edition before buying, since the base game alone does not guarantee access and storefront availability or bundle contents can vary.

Platforms and edition availability
Arc System Works’ Version 1.48 notes list PS4, PS5, Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows for the update. Bandai Namco’s announcement also lists PC and Switch, and Arc System Works separately announced an update for the Nintendo Switch Edition. Because platform and edition listings can differ, verify that the Lucy add-on or Season Pass 4 is offered for your specific version in its storefront.
How Arc System Works adapted Lucy
Arc System Works says it designed Lucy to be approachable for players new to Guilty Gear -Strive-. The developer describes her as a mid-range fighter with projectiles, advancing attacks, and invincible options. These are the developer’s descriptions of her design, not an independent assessment of her competitive strength.

In its Developer’s Backyard interview, Arc System Works also explained that Lucy’s hacking presentation draws on six Quickhack types and the Short Nerve Circuit effect. The team used official sound assets provided by the Cyberpunk 2077 development team to evoke the feel of Quickhacks, and consulted Satoru Homma, Japan Country Manager at CD PROJEKT RED and producer of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, from early in development.
Music included with the update
Version 1.48 added music associated with both the anime and the game. The patch notes credit “Opening Credits” from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners as written and produced by Akira Yamaoka, and “Run to the Edge” as written and produced by Marcin Przybyłowicz and P.T. Adamczyk. The update also lists Cyberpunk 2077 tracks including “Cyberwildlife Park” and “Chippin’ in.” See the full patch notes for the complete music list and credits.

Other game features are separate from Lucy’s DLC
The official game page describes Digital Figure mode as a scene-building feature where players can arrange characters, furniture, effects, and poses, then adjust the camera. It also says the Ultimate Edition digital soundtrack includes over 55 songs—over 15 vocal themes and over 40 background tracks. Those soundtrack totals describe the edition’s overall music package, not the number of tracks tied to Lucy.
