La Guía de la Maratón de Lectura 2025 de la Asociación Peruana de Lectura (APELEC) es un recurso para organizar actividades de lectura en escuelas, hogares y comunidades. Propone cómo preparar el espacio y los textos, leer de distintas maneras, registrar la participación y compartir resultados. Corresponde a la edición de 2025: UGEL 05 anunció que aquella maratón se realizaría del 8 al 12 de septiembre de ese año, fechas ya pasadas. APELEC ya presenta una guía de 2026.
Qué es la Maratón Peruana de Lectura
APELEC organiza la Maratón Peruana de Lectura en coordinación con entidades educativas y organizaciones afines. La guía de 2025 la plantea como una actividad compartida para niños, jóvenes y adultos, en la que pueden participar instituciones educativas, familias, bibliotecas y comunidades. Puede realizarse presencialmente o con apoyo de plataformas digitales.
El documento también afirma que la iniciativa llevaba 14 años de impulso en 2025. Es una declaración institucional de la guía, no una medición independiente.
Qué fechas tuvo la edición de 2025
UGEL 05 publicó el 16 de mayo de 2025 una convocatoria para la XII Maratón Latinoamericana y XIV Maratón Peruana, anunciada para el 8 al 12 de septiembre de 2025. Esa edición ya concluyó; la guía de 2025 sirve como material de consulta y no como convocatoria vigente. La página de APELEC conserva el recurso de 2025 y presenta una guía de 2026.

Cómo organizar la actividad con la guía
Antes: preparar espacio, textos y registro
- Elijan el espacio y los materiales disponibles, ya sea en casa, en una escuela, una biblioteca o un espacio comunitario.
- Busquen textos acordes con las preferencias y el entorno de quienes leerán. Pueden usar libros físicos, textos de uso cotidiano o recursos digitales.
- Dejen los textos al alcance de los participantes y acuerden un horario para la actividad.
- Preparen un lectómetro u otro sistema sencillo para registrar las lecturas y designen a una persona responsable de anotar los títulos.
- Si quieren anunciar la actividad, elaboren afiches con lemas de la maratón.
Durante: alternar formas de lectura
La guía propone lectura individual, en parejas, colectiva y en voz alta. Se pueden combinar estas modalidades para que participen personas con distintas edades y preferencias. Registren los títulos leídos según el sistema que hayan acordado.
Después: compartir y reflexionar
Al terminar, la guía sugiere reportar los resultados, conversar sobre la participación, preparar un mural y compartir evidencias de la actividad. También incluye ideas para crear cuentos, diseñar ambientes lectores y dar continuidad a la lectura mediante un plan lector.

Dónde conseguir textos para la Maratón
El PDF enumera bibliotecas y colecciones digitales, incluidas opciones infantiles en varios idiomas. También se pueden utilizar libros que ya haya en casa o en la escuela, así como textos de uso cotidiano. La recomendación central es escoger materiales según los intereses de los lectores, no imponer una selección única.
La guía menciona recursos gratuitos y no exige comprar libros ni materiales. Si una familia o institución prefiere incorporar libros impresos, esa es una opción; las bibliotecas digitales también permiten buscar lecturas sin que la compra sea un requisito.

Qué cifras de participación menciona la guía
La guía de APELEC publicada para la edición de 2025 atribuye a 2024 la participación de 202 879 adultos y 1 204 961 estudiantes. El documento no presenta esas cantidades como una estadística externa verificada, por lo que deben entenderse como cifras publicadas por APELEC en la propia guía.
