Yes. PerthNow and Fox Sports reported that the Australian swimmer and Fletcher married on Sunday, 20 December 2020, in Melbourne. PerthNow’s account and a Fox Sports report credited to News.com.au were both published on 22 December.
In this context, “secretly” refers to the small, private ceremony and the announcement coming after it. The reports do not describe a marriage concealed for an extended period: the couple shared the news publicly after the wedding.
When and where was the wedding?
The reports place the ceremony in Melbourne on 20 December 2020. PerthNow described the gathering as including two friends, the couple’s 11-month-old son Edward, and Hackett’s twins, Charlize and Jagger, from his previous marriage. Fox Sports likewise reported that two friends and the children attended.

Why was the ceremony so intimate?
The couple said COVID-19 had delayed their original wedding plans and made it difficult to bring friends and family together, including people overseas. They decided to marry with a small group and hoped to celebrate with a larger gathering later.
PerthNow reproduced a statement attributed to Hackett’s social-media announcement: “With COVID-19 continuing to delay our nuptials and the ability to properly plan our wedding, with all of our friends and family in the one location both locally and from overseas, Sharlene and I just wanted to say ‘I do’.” The outlet also quoted Fletcher’s announcement: “We had such a beautiful intimate ceremony with just two of our very best friends + all the munchkins! I’m currently still on cloud nine,”
