Green Day played Citi Field in Queens on August 5, 2024, as part of the Saviors Tour. The Smashing Pumpkins were special guests on select North American dates, but the available event listing does not confirm the full Citi Field lineup or set order. The “Party Like It’s 1994” wording is an editorial nod to Green Day’s Dookie, not a verified official event slogan.
When did Green Day play Citi Field with the Smashing Pumpkins?
The best-supported match is the Saviors Tour concert at Citi Field on August 5, 2024. Ticketmaster’s tour overview lists the Citi Field date and identifies The Smashing Pumpkins as special guests on select North American dates. That listing establishes their role on the tour, but does not by itself confirm the complete bill or the order of performances at Citi Field.

Why does the title refer to 1994?
Green Day’s major-label debut, Dookie, came out in 1994, according to Ticketmaster’s artist biography. The page reports that the album has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide; it does not state a year for that sales figure.
The 1994 reference points to one part of Green Day’s history, not the entirety of the Saviors Tour’s album context. The same biography dates American Idiot to 2004, a decade after Dookie.
