Who plays Hal Jordan in Lanterns?
Kyle Chandler portrays Hal Jordan, the veteran Green Lantern at the center of the series. Aaron Pierre plays John Stewart, a new recruit paired with Jordan. Warner Bros. Discovery’s production announcement identifies both actors and describes the show as an HBO Original drama produced with DC Studios.
What is Lanterns about?
The official premise follows Stewart and Jordan as intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery while investigating a murder in the American heartland. The setup makes the series more than a space-focused superhero story: its central case unfolds on Earth. HBO Max’s series announcement gives the same logline and identifies Chandler as Hal Jordan and Pierre as John Stewart.
When did the series premiere?
DC.com reported that Lanterns premiered on HBO Max on August 16, 2026, in its July 29, 2026 series explainer. That date has passed; the announcement does not establish whether the series is currently available in every region.
