In interviews, she has linked her own experience of aging to menopause advocacy: speaking more openly about midlife, supporting education and research, and helping women find community. Her comments offer a personal perspective, not a measure of how common ageism is across the entertainment industry or medical evidence about menopause treatments.
What did Halle Berry say about aging in Hollywood?
In a February 2026 interview with The Cut, as reported by AOL/People, Berry discussed her view that Hollywood can marginalize and devalue older women. She said she would not let aging define or erase her. The available coverage connects that perspective to Sharon Coombs, the character Berry plays in Crime 101, who faces marginalization at work and in society.
That is Berry’s account of her experience and outlook. It should not be read as a quantified finding about the industry as a whole; the available report does not establish how prevalent ageism is in Hollywood.
What does Halle Berry mean by her “second act”?
Berry has given the phrase a practical meaning through menopause advocacy. In a 2025 Today appearance, she said, “It’s not time to sit down. It’s time to reinvent.” Prevention’s coverage describes her message as rejecting the idea that midlife means stepping aside. It also quotes her saying, “there’s nothing wrong with me being in my mid-life. There’s nothing wrong with being 58.” Those remarks were reported in February 2025, when she was 58.

For Berry, reinvention includes using her public platform to make menopause easier to discuss and to encourage more attention to women’s health. In a July 15, 2026, conversation with Hoda Kotb, she described this work as a way to make her next chapter meaningful: “And I thought this is a great way to spend a second act of my life doing something that mattered.” The quote appears in the episode summary and transcript for Making Space with Hoda Kotb.
What is Respin?
Berry relaunched Respin in February 2025 as a menopause-focused platform. Prevention reports that it aims to offer awareness, education, empowerment and community for women in midlife. Its materials address menopause wellness topics including diet, exercise and hormone replacement therapy, alongside community support. The Respin website is the place to check its current offerings; availability and service geography can change.

Berry has said her motivation is personal: she did not understand menopause before experiencing it, and wanted to help destigmatize it, advocate for research and make future conversations easier for younger women. These are her stated reasons for the work, not evidence that any particular treatment is effective or suitable for an individual.

The July 2026 Making Space episode coverage also reports a Joylux partnership and names “Juicy Like a Peach.” Joylux describes that product as a vaginal gel on its official site, which also lists its vFit device line. Product descriptions and health-related claims on a company website are the company’s own claims; they are not independent medical guidance. The coverage does not establish clinical outcomes for the product, and Berry’s advocacy should not be treated as a recommendation for a particular treatment.

- As advocacy: Respin and her public comments aim to make menopause more discussable and support education, community and research.
- Not as population evidence: The cited interview coverage does not quantify ageism in Hollywood, and Berry’s statements do not establish medical consensus or treatment efficacy.
