A contemporaneous report also identified six other first-time nominees in its coverage of Latin artists, though it does not provide a complete list of first-time nominees across the Grammys’ categories.
Was Selena Gomez nominated for a Grammy for the first time?
Yes. Gomez was nominated for Best Latin Pop Album for Revelación. The Recording Academy’s 64th Grammy Awards nominations announcement confirms the album and category. A contemporaneous report described the nomination as her first-ever Grammy nod; that first-time detail comes from the report, rather than the Academy’s nominee list.
Who were other first-time Grammy nominees in 2022?
Hispanically Yours’ contemporaneous coverage of Latin Grammy nominees identified these artists as other first-time nominees:
- Camilo, nominated for Mis Manos
- Rauw Alejandro
- Paula Arenas
- Karol G
- Nathy Peluso
- C. Tangana
This is the group identified in that Latin-focused report, not a verified roster of every first-time nominee across the 2022 awards. The Academy’s nominations list confirms nominee names and categories, but the cited materials do not establish a comprehensive first-nomination history across all fields.

What did “Grammys 2022” mean?
The 2022 ceremony was the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Its nominees were selected from recordings released during the eligibility period of September 1, 2020, through September 30, 2021; that period is distinct from the ceremony date.
In its 2021 announcement, the Recording Academy said nearly 22,000 eligible entries were considered across 26 fields and 86 categories. For the first time, Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist each included 10 nominees rather than eight. The Academy’s updated 2022 winners and nominations list records the ceremony results.
Rank #2
- THE OFFICE TROPHY – Michael Scott handed out these trophies at Chilis every year. Now it’s your turn for some Office fun! Give this award to your hard-working colleagues, or buy one for yourself. Michael would approve either way.
- SCHRUTE FARM QUALITY – This is no fake Oscar or gag Grammy, it’s a high-quality sturdy businessman statue resting on a beautiful black marble base. Get a trophy good enough to make Dwight smile.
- FROM THE WORLD’S BEST BOSS – To the world’s best employee! Or at least to the hottest in the office, worst salesman of the year, or bushiest beaver.
- PERFECT PRESENT – Give the best to the best. Whether it’s from a Jim Halpert to a Pam Beesly or from one fan to another, this fun gift is great for Christmas, a birthday, Hanukkah, a work anniversary, or to the best Dundies host.
- OFF THE SHOW – For the best souvenirs from the best shows, look to Off The Show. Watching The Office US TV show was a wonderful experience; now you can live it! (Or the part where people get Dundies, at least)
