What is the Gibson Demo Shop?
It is Gibson’s storefront on Reverb for instruments the company describes as “one-of-a-kind prototypes, demo guitars, and factory mods.” A listing may therefore represent a particular guitar rather than a standard production model. The shop’s description does not establish a uniform condition, modification, accessory package, price advantage or quality level across its inventory.

Reverb reported on February 24, 2021, that the U.S. shop had launched in late 2020. That coverage described prototypes, factory seconds and factory-modified guitars, and said new guitars were being listed regularly at the time. That is historical context, not a guarantee of current listing frequency. Reverb’s 2021 coverage and Guitar World’s launch coverage describe the store’s origins.
U.S. and UK shops: where each ships
Gibson has separate U.S. and UK Demo Shop storefronts. Their shipping regions differ, so start with the shop serving your location and verify the terms on the specific listing.

Shipping terms can change. The U.S. shop’s stated free UPS Ground service excludes weekends and holidays. The UK shop’s regional scope and Netherlands dispatch information are given on its current storefront page.
What to check on an individual listing
Because these are distinct instruments, use the listing—not the shop’s general description—to judge what is being offered. Before purchasing, confirm:

- Condition and changes: the condition description, visible blemishes and any modifications. Do not assume a particular grade or that a modification is present—or absent—on every instrument.
- What is included: verify the listed case, accessories and other included items rather than assuming a standard package.
- Price and return eligibility: read the current listing terms, especially if the instrument is marked “As-Described.”
- Warranty: check which warranty terms and exclusions apply to that guitar.
U.S. returns and shipping terms
The U.S. storefront states a 30-day return period and a 15% restocking fee for new and used/vintage items. Its general terms say buyers pay return shipping, and the shop warns that some items may be sold “As-Described” and may not be returnable. The listing’s own return policy matters, so check it before ordering rather than assuming every guitar qualifies for a return. These are the shop’s stated terms and may change.
Does a Demo Shop guitar have a Gibson warranty?
A Gibson Brands, Inc. Demo Shop and Mod Collection limited-warranty document states a two-year term for qualifying coverage of defects in materials and workmanship, subject to its terms and exclusions. That document alone does not establish identical coverage for every listing. Confirm the warranty that applies to the specific guitar and review the document’s terms and exclusions before purchase.

- Open the U.S. storefront or, if shopping in the UK, the UK storefront.
- Browse the live listings and open the page for the exact instrument; availability and models change.
- Compare the instrument’s description, condition, modifications, included items and price with your requirements. The available sources do not establish a universal discount versus a standard production guitar.
- Read that listing’s shipping, return and warranty details, then confirm the terms still suit you before checkout.
