Comics use “shape-changing” for several different abilities: changing appearance to impersonate someone, reshaping a body, altering size, or taking on other forms. The Skrulls and Kamala Khan illustrate how wide that label can be—but the available verified sources do not establish a complete, reliable roster of 15 characters. Rather than inventing entries or limits, this guide explains the confirmed examples and what can—and cannot—be said about the larger list.
What counts as shape-changing?
It is not one standard power. A character might change only their appearance, alter their body’s shape, grow or shrink, or transform into forms that are not human. Those differences matter: the ability to impersonate someone is not automatically the same as changing size or becoming another kind of creature.
Marvel’s descriptions of the Skrulls and Kamala Khan show two distinct scopes of transformation. They do not, on their own, establish every character’s combat uses, restrictions, or vulnerabilities.
Two verified Marvel examples
The Skrulls: a shape-changing alien race
Marvel describes the Skrulls as “A shape-changing alien race” in its Fantastic Four reading list. That establishes shape-changing as a defining trait of the group, but the cited description does not specify the exact forms they can take or the limits of the ability.

Kamala Khan: changing size, shape, and appearance
Marvel’s Kamala Khan reading list says she can “alter her size, shape, and complete appearance.” This explicitly reaches beyond a simple disguise: the description includes size as well as shape and appearance. It does not set out a complete list of forms or a detailed set of limitations.
Mystique and the limits of the available evidence
Marvel’s villains reading list identifies Mystique in connection with mutant rights and points to Mystique (2003) #1. That source is useful for her story context, but it does not describe her transformation mechanics. A series entry or character label alone is not enough to substantiate what a character can change or how the power is limited.

- Includes Iron Man, Captain America, Black Panther and Iron Spider
- Connect the Titan Hero Power FX Pack (not included) to operate the figures
The same caution applies to Loki and other characters appearing in Marvel’s series catalog: a catalog listing identifies series, not the details of a character’s powers.
Why a definitive list of 15 would be misleading
A search result for the exact title offers names including the Skrulls, Miss Martian, Changeling/Morph, Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man, Everyman, Chameleon, Madame Rouge, and Chameleon Boy. It presents these as entries 9–16, even though the title promises 15. This is a partial, internally inconsistent lead—not a verified complete roster. The available source does not establish the other entries or support a reliable comparison of their abilities and limits.
Rank #3
- Incredible Iron Man figure
- Armor suit looks like the one worn by the Iron Man character
- Includes figure
- Assemble Titan Hero Iron Man
For that reason, a trustworthy character-by-character list would need stronger sources for each name, especially where different publishers and versions of a character may be involved. Without those sources, assigning a transformation scope, use, or limitation to the unverified names would risk turning assumptions into facts.

For readers interested in role-playing rather than a comics roster, Marvel’s Multiverse Role-Playing Game Rules FAQ says a Skrull character can be created by selecting the Shape-Shift power and refers to the Core Rulebook. This is a game rule, not evidence about the full abilities of Skrulls in comics.
