Gigi Hadid wore a strapless mini dress and matching pointed heels covered in yellow DHL-logo tape at Vetements’ Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris on September 27, 2024. The outfit looked as if it were made entirely from packing tape, but Teen Vogue noted that it could have had a fabric lining; its underlying construction has not been established.
What Gigi Hadid wore at Vetements
Hadid’s body-hugging, strapless mini dress was covered in yellow tape bearing the red DHL logo, paired with matching pointed-toe heels. The look appeared on Vetements’ Spring/Summer 2025 womenswear runway during Paris Fashion Week. Teen Vogue’s report and runway photos describe the dress as appearing to be made entirely of tape, while allowing that an interior fabric lining may have been present.
That distinction matters: the images establish the striking taped exterior, not the garment’s pattern, support, adhesive, application method, or exact materials. The available reporting also does not establish whether the tape was branded consumer stock or how the look was made.
Why Vetements has a DHL connection
The logo was not a new reference for the label. British Vogue traces Vetements’ DHL association to its Spring/Summer 2016 show, where Gosha Rubchinskiy wore a loose yellow T-shirt with the red postal-service logo. The magazine reported that the shirts retailed for about $300 at the time; that is a historical retail price, not a current price or resale estimate. British Vogue’s account of the 2024 look and the earlier DHL moment places Hadid’s dress in that longer runway association.

Vetements has also used unconventional materials in other collections. In Vogue’s review of the Spring 2016 collection, Sarah Mower quoted Demna describing rose-printed plastic tablecloths made into aprons and dresses as an ode to his grandmother. That is context for the house’s interest in everyday materials, not evidence that the 2024 DHL dress was built using the same method. Vogue’s Spring 2016 collection archive identifies that collection as ready-to-wear by Demna.
How the 2024 look compares with other taped fashion
Coverage also raised a comparison with Kim Kardashian’s taped Balenciaga look from 2022. The useful common thread is the conspicuous use of tape as a visual surface; the garments, show contexts, and makers differ. The reporting does not establish that the looks shared a team or construction process. For Hadid, what is documented is a tape-covered mini dress and matching heels; the precise structure underneath remains unclear.

British Vogue also noted that Hadid walked Guram Gvasalia’s catwalk alongside Travis Scott and J Balvin. Its article quotes Luke Leitch’s Vogue Runway review: “You can unwrap [Hadid’s look] for yourself: the Gvasalia saga rumbles on.”
