Spoiler for the Gachiakuta season 1 finale: Tamsy Caines took Amo Empool. The closing reveal shows Amo chained up as Tamsy approaches. It identifies her captor, but does not fully explain his motives or what happens to Amo next.
Who took Amo in the finale?
It was Tamsy Caines, a Cleaner. Amo is shown chained in the finale’s post-credits reveal, with Tamsy approaching her. A continuation guide identifies him by name; the image itself establishes that Amo is captive, not the full reason she was taken.
The reveal is not that Zodyl has Amo. The same guide distinguishes Tamsy as her captor from the expectation that Zodyl might be responsible. The finale leaves Tamsy’s motive and Amo’s fate unanswered for anime-only viewers.
How Amo and Tamsy got to the mansion
Earlier in the story, Amo’s vital instrument affects people through a scent connected to happy memories with someone they love. In its official synopsis for episode 12, “Something Like a Curse,” the anime’s website describes Tamsy binding four Cleaners affected by the ability, then attacking Amo and the group together and sending them to the mansion’s lowest level. That confrontation provides context for the characters’ danger; it is separate from the finale’s later reveal of who has Amo.

What the finale does—and does not—answer
- Answered: Tamsy is the person shown holding Amo captive.
- Not answered: His complete motive, the circumstances beyond what the reveal shows, and what ultimately happens to Amo.
Those unresolved points matter: identifying the captor does not settle the larger mystery. Viewers who want the story without manga spoilers can wait for the anime’s continuation. The official Gachiakuta anime site says production of season 2 has been decided, but does not establish a release date here.
Where to continue in the manga
If you would rather read ahead, a secondary continuation guide points readers to around chapter 88, with volume 11 as a possible print starting point. Treat the volume suggestion as edition-dependent: confirm the chapter mapping for the edition and market you intend to read. The official anime site identifies Gachiakuta as a manga published in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine and lists collected volumes 1–19 as on sale.
