Ownership, utility and continued access are distinct questions. A token may represent a digital item, while its practical use can still depend on a particular game’s rules, software and continued operation. That distinction matters when considering the role of art and entertainment. A collectible’s appeal or usefulness in a game does not establish an income opportunity. The interview presents potential earning as part of the model’s promise, not a measured outcome or a substitute for evaluating a game on its entertainment value.
Why did Buxton call independence a superpower?
Buxton described Gala’s independence as the freedom to choose its partners and working methods. “What’s really nice about that is we don’t have to do what anybody else tells us,” she said. Independence can create room for creative decisions, but it does not by itself demonstrate that a company is profitable, financially secure or decentralized in every operational sense. The GamesBeat interview includes company assertions about funding and profitability, but no independently documented figures that establish those claims.
