Foundation follows exiles trying to preserve humanity as the Galactic Empire falls, but its story spans rival factions, political offices, and characters introduced across seasons. This guide identifies the season 2 characters for whom Apple TV Press provides actor pairings and descriptions, and notes where its official cast listing does not establish a complete character key.
What is Apple TV+’s Foundation about?
The series is an adaptation based on Isaac Asimov’s award-winning novels. Apple TV Press describes it as following a band of exiles on a journey to save humanity and rebuild civilization amid the fall of the Galactic Empire. The television version should be treated as an adaptation: its characters and events need not match the books in every detail. Apple TV Press: Foundation

Which principal cast members does Apple list?
Apple’s official cast-and-crew page lists Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell, Leah Harvey, Laura Birn, Terrence Mann, Cassian Bilton, and Alfred Enoch, along with showrunner David S. Goyer. The accessible listing does not pair those principal performers with character names, so it is not a reliable character key by itself. Apple TV Press: cast and crew

The season 2 entries above are the character-identification details supported by Apple’s named pairings and descriptions. For the principal cast, Apple’s accessible listing confirms the performers’ inclusion but does not establish who each one plays. Readers comparing the show with Asimov’s novels should also keep the adaptation distinction in mind rather than assuming every television character or plot detail appears in the books.
