Charter offered SHOWTIME and EPIX at no additional charge to eligible Spectrum TV customers from March 23 through April 19, 2020. The promotion has expired; it was not a current free trial, and the announcement did not say that Spectrum Internet-only customers qualified.
What the Spectrum promotion included
Charter Communications announced on March 23, 2020, that it would expand SHOWTIME and EPIX to Spectrum TV customers who did not already receive those channels. Both were included at no additional charge during the announced offer period.
Charter’s Executive Vice President of Programming Acquisition, Tom Montemagno, said: “We hope that by expanding these programming options it will provide even more hours of entertainment for our customers in these challenging times.” That was the company executive’s statement about the promotion.
Who qualified—and what the announcement leaves unclear
The offer was described for Spectrum TV customers who did not currently receive SHOWTIME or EPIX. The release does not establish that Internet-only subscribers qualified, or spell out exceptions based on a particular TV package or account status.

Where the information comes from
These terms come from Charter Communications’ March 23, 2020 press release, “Charter to Expand SHOWTIME® and EPIX to All Video Subscribers Through April 19.” The release’s broader statement that Charter served more than 29 million customers in 41 states was company background, not a count of how many people received or watched the promotion.
