Kat Timpf said she learned she had Stage 0 breast cancer about 15 hours before going into labor. In the months that followed, she reported having a double mastectomy and beginning reconstruction. These are details from her personal account, not guidance for other patients.
What did Kat Timpf say about her diagnosis?
On February 25, 2025, Fox News reported Timpf’s announcement of her child’s birth and her diagnosis. She said, “About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer.” She also relayed her doctor’s assessment: “Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s Stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread.” Those statements describe what Timpf said she had been told; they are not an independent assessment of her condition. Fox News’ February 2025 report also said she was beginning a three-month maternity leave.
What next steps did she describe?
Doctors discussed a double mastectomy
In her February announcement, Timpf said doctors told her that a double mastectomy was likely the best course as soon as possible. The details of her medical decision-making are not fully public, so her account should not be treated as a recommendation for anyone else.
Childbirth, surgery and reconstruction
A March 2025 Yahoo report described a March 14 social-media update in which she outlined a sequence that included recovering from childbirth, undergoing a double mastectomy, cancer removal, reconstruction and eventually returning to the gym. That sequence was reported as her update at the time, rather than independently verified primary material. Yahoo’s March report is the source for that account.

The Los Angeles Times later reported that Timpf had a double mastectomy in March, returned to Gutfeld! in mid-June and announced a short absence in July for reconstructive surgery. In the July account, she described recovery as a process, saying, “Even … the best case scenario of breast cancer can involve quite a road to feeling whole again.” The Los Angeles Times report also quoted her asking viewers to trust that she was making the best decision for herself and her family with the best medical advice she could get.
What had she said about surgery and reconstruction by August 2025?
In an August 8, 2025 interview with Guy Benson, Timpf said that about a month after her diagnosis she had both breasts removed and then learned the cancer had been removed. “I had both of my boobs removed to get all the cancer out and then I found out they did get all of the cancer out,” she said. She also said she had undergone her first reconstructive surgery a few weeks before the interview. The Fox News Radio interview transcript is the source for those first-person details.

Were the later reconstruction procedures completed?
TV Insider reported in October 2025 that Timpf expected a nipple-construction procedure in December and tattoos six months afterward. Those were plans reported at that time; the available reporting here does not establish whether either procedure took place. The October 2025 TV Insider report should not be read as confirmation of her current health or treatment status.
