In a Yahoo Shopping interview, she described choosing it because she wanted a moisturizer and a base for the rest of her makeup. That is Drescher’s account of her routine, not independent evidence that the primer improves skin or makes makeup last longer.
Which Laura Geller primer did Fran Drescher name?
Drescher named the Hydrating Spackle variant. Laura Geller’s official product page calls it Spackle Hydrating Skin Perfecting Facial Primer, also referred to as Spackle Hydrate.
In the Yahoo Shopping interview, Drescher said: “I often use the Hydrating Spackle because I want to put on a moisturizer anyway. So I might as well use one that smooths out the skin and pores and works as a base for the rest of my makeup, so it stays on longer and looks better.” Those smoothing and wear benefits are her description, not independently verified results.
How does the brand say to apply Spackle Hydrate?
Laura Geller describes Spackle as a makeup primer, a base for foundation and other makeup. Its product guidance is to massage a thin layer onto clean skin before makeup and allow it to set for about one minute. An official listing also places it after moisturizer and sunscreen and before makeup; the brand says Hydrate works best on already-moisturized skin.

What is in the Hydrate formula?
Laura Geller’s online ingredient list includes water, glycerin, jojoba seed oil, sunflower seed oil, shea butter, sodium hyaluronate, squalane and aloe leaf extract, among other ingredients. These are ingredients in the brand’s published list, not evidence by themselves of a particular skincare outcome. The brand notes that packaging has the most current ingredient information, so check the product received for the up-to-date list.
What is established about its performance?
The brand describes hydration, smoothing and makeup-wear benefits, and Drescher says she uses the primer for those purposes. The sources cited here do not establish those effects through independent testing or compare Spackle Hydrate with other primers. Treat the one-minute setting time as the brand’s application instruction, not a measured study result.
