No Season 7 SpongeBob collaboration has been confirmed by Epic. SpongeBob content is already documented in Fortnite: Epic identifies SpongeBob as a licensed Sidekick, and a third-party archive records SpongeBob and Patrick Sidekicks in the Item Shop on September 7, 2026. That evidence does not confirm a new Season 7 release or establish that either item is currently available.
Is SpongeBob coming to Fortnite Season 7?
That specific timing remains unconfirmed. The Epic sources reviewed do not place SpongeBob content in a Season 7 lineup. Epic’s June 5, 2026 UEFN documentation identifies SpongeBob as a licensed Sidekick, but it does not announce a Season 7 collaboration. Epic’s news listing likewise does not establish the season claim.
So the accurate distinction is: SpongeBob is part of Fortnite, but the claim that a new collaboration is coming specifically in Season 7 is not confirmed by the cited official material.
Is the Fortnite SpongeBob collab confirmed?
Fortnite’s SpongeBob content is documented, but “confirmed” needs context. Epic’s UEFN article explicitly names SpongeBob as a licensed Sidekick. Separately, FNDB’s archive of the Item Shop for September 7, 2026 lists SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star Sidekicks. The archive is evidence of what it recorded on that date, not a live Epic offer or a confirmation of future timing.

Earlier reports in July 2026 described SpongeBob- and Ice Spice-related files as datamined or encrypted. AllThings. How’s July 21 report discussed files found after Fortnite v41.20 and treated a possible July 24 shop appearance as unconfirmed; Nerds Chalk’s July 23 roundup also said the material was encrypted and its final shop presentation was not yet visible. Those reports explain the “leakers claim” framing, but they are not Epic announcements. The later September archive should not be confused with the earlier unconfirmed prediction.
What SpongeBob items appeared in the September 7 archive?
FNDB’s archive records these Fortnite shop listings and prices for September 7, 2026. Prices are the archive’s historical V-Bucks values, not a promise of current availability or future pricing.

The Sidekicks are not full character Outfits. Nor should every SpongeBob-related listing be described as a skin: the archive includes a pickaxe, themed Kicks, an emote and other cosmetic content. FNDB’s dated shop archive is third-party; Epic’s documentation is the primary source for the Sidekick designation.
What does Epic’s Sidekick classification mean?
Epic’s June 5, 2026 UEFN documentation calls SpongeBob a “Licensed Sidekick” and says licensed Sidekicks “can’t be used as NPCs.” That is a creator-use restriction for UEFN, not a statement that SpongeBob is a playable Outfit or that a particular season will feature him.

In practical terms, a Sidekick is distinct from a full Outfit. The official classification supports saying SpongeBob is a licensed Fortnite Sidekick; it does not support describing him as a playable Battle Royale character or assigning him to Season 7.

SpongeBob content in Fortnite predates the 2026 Sidekick listings. In a February 20, 2025 business update, GameSquare said its team built four SpongeBob-themed Fortnite games in UEFN. The company reported “26M+ impressions” and “95M minutes played” for Bikini Bottom Prop Hunt’s launch-week performance. These are company-reported campaign figures, not an independent audit or Epic-wide usage statistics, and they measure a UEFN map campaign—not the later Item Shop cosmetics.

What to watch for before treating a Season 7 claim as fact
- An Epic announcement: Look for a dated official Fortnite announcement that explicitly names Season 7 or gives a release window.
- A live in-game listing: A shop appearance can establish that an item is offered at that time, but not necessarily confirm a future season placement.
- Clear item type: Check whether the listing is a Sidekick, Outfit, pickaxe, emote, Kicks or another cosmetic before calling it a “skin” or character collaboration.
- Leak attribution: Datamined or encrypted files may indicate that content is in development or being prepared, but they do not by themselves prove the final items, timing or availability.
