Beyoncé is the woman with the most Grammy wins in the Recording Academy’s published records: 35 through the 2025 Grammy Awards. Alison Krauss follows with 27, Aretha Franklin with 18, Adele with 16, and Taylor Swift with 14. These are sourced leading examples, not a definitive women-only top five: the Academy’s all-time list covers artists of all genders and does not provide a complete women-only ranking.
Leading female Grammy winners by career total
The figures below are career Grammy wins credited to each artist by the Recording Academy. Counts can include awards won with groups or collaborators, not only as a solo performer.

The Academy’s all-time winners list is updated through the 2025 Grammys, but it is not a comprehensive women-only table. The order above reflects the cited counts and should not be read as an exhaustive ranking of every woman with the same or a higher total.
How group and collaborative awards count
The Recording Academy’s artist profiles assign career awards to the credited artist even when a Grammy was earned with a group or collaborator. That is why the totals answer how many Grammys an artist is credited with across her career, not how many she won exclusively as a solo performer. Beyoncé’s first three were with Destiny’s Child; 14 of Alison Krauss’s 27 are shared with Union Station.

Career totals are different from single-night and category records
Album Of The Year
Taylor Swift has won Album Of The Year four times, the most by any artist according to her Recording Academy profile. Adele is among the two female solo artists with two Album Of The Year wins for their own solo albums. These category milestones are narrower than the overall career-win tally.
Most wins at one ceremony
Beyoncé and Adele each won six Grammys in a single night: Beyoncé at the 2010 ceremony and Adele at the 2012 ceremony, according to the Recording Academy’s account of Beyoncé’s Grammy history and record context. A one-night result is not the same measure as career wins.

Beyoncé’s 2025 additions
Beyoncé became the all-time Grammy wins leader in 2023, then added three awards at the 2025 Grammys. They included her first Album Of The Year award for COWBOY CARTER, Best Country Album, and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. The Academy reported 35 career wins and 99 nominations for her through the 2025 ceremony.
