Qué dijo Fernanda Castillo en su mensaje sobre la maternidad
El 4 de abril de 2021, People en Español informó sobre una reflexión que Castillo había compartido en Instagram. La actriz acababa de convertirse en madre de Liam, nacido el 12 de diciembre de 2020; para entonces habían pasado casi cuatro meses.
En las palabras reproducidas por el medio, Castillo habló de la maternidad como algo extraordinario, pero también ligado a la magia, el dolor, la transformación y la dificultad. La idea central no era que esas emociones se anularan entre sí: podían formar parte de una misma experiencia. La nota también recordó que Castillo había compartido su vivencia de madre después de una complicación posparto.
Por qué cuestionó la imagen de una maternidad siempre feliz
En una entrevista con TVNotas publicada el 6 de mayo de 2024, mientras hablaba de la película El castigo, Castillo volvió sobre la distancia entre la experiencia real y la imagen idealizada de la maternidad. Dijo que se puede celebrar tener un hijo y, al mismo tiempo, sentir duelo por la persona que se era antes.

También señaló que la crianza puede ser difícil y que las mujeres necesitan poder decirlo. En esa entrevista describió la presión que puede producir una imagen de felicidad constante: “La maternidad está romantizada, pero el día que no te la pasas bien, piensas: ‘Debo tener un problema porque soy la única que no se la pasa bien’.”
Su planteamiento no convierte el duelo o la dificultad en una medida universal. Más bien permite reconocer que querer y celebrar a un hijo no obliga a sentirse feliz en cada momento ni elimina los cambios personales que acompañan la maternidad.

Qué aclaró sobre su complicación posparto
En una entrevista de ¡HOLA! Américas publicada el 28 de mayo de 2025, Castillo explicó que la complicación que vivió después del nacimiento de su hijo fue principalmente física. Al hablar de salud mental y maternidad, pidió abrir espacio para las emociones contrapuestas y para el duelo que puede acompañar convertirse en madre.
La distinción importa: Castillo no atribuyó su propia complicación a una depresión o psicosis posparto. Tampoco presentó las emociones difíciles como un diagnóstico. Sus comentarios fueron una reflexión personal sobre la necesidad de apoyo y conversación, no un consejo médico ni una evaluación clínica.

Su llamado a hablar y acompañarse
Castillo ha defendido que las mujeres puedan contar lo que les está costando sin sentirse las únicas. En la entrevista de 2025 explicó por qué considera importante hablar del tema: “Entonces para mí hablar de la maternidad es muy importante por eso, porque he podido ver en otras mujeres a mi alrededor como no tenemos un espacio para ser acompañadas de la mejor manera en un proceso que es muy fuerte y que no sabemos cómo gestionar.”
Ese llamado se refiere a crear espacios donde las madres puedan expresar experiencias distintas y recibir acompañamiento, en vez de tener que ajustarse a una sola versión de cómo debería sentirse la maternidad. No implica que todas las personas vivan el mismo proceso o necesiten la misma forma de apoyo.

Cómo habla hoy de maternidad e identidad
En una entrevista de portada de Glamour México y Latinoamérica, publicada en abril de 2026, Castillo habló de combinar la maternidad con su carrera. Dijo que cuenta con apoyo en casa y mencionó el ejercicio, la terapia y el tiempo con sus amigas entre las prácticas que le ayudan. También expresó una idea sobre identidad que amplía sus comentarios anteriores: “Ser mamá no significa dejar de ser mujer, ni dejar de ser sexy, inteligente o divertida. Las mujeres podemos ser todo lo que decidamos ser”.
Su historia personal tampoco parte de un deseo de maternidad que hubiera tenido desde niña. En una entrevista con Las Estrellas en 2020, dijo: “Yo no sabía que quería ser mamá, fue un deseo que fui construyendo junto con Erik”. Ese contexto refuerza que sus palabras describen su propio recorrido, no una expectativa para otras mujeres.
