Larry Emdur won the Gold Logie at the 64th TV Week Logie Awards on 18 August 2024. Before the ceremony, seven nominees were in the running; the Gold was decided by public vote alone, but no comparable polling or vote totals were published in the sources available here. That means the contenders can be set out as a form guide, not ranked by a defensible probability.
Who was nominated for the 2024 Gold Logie?
The shortlist brought together seven television personalities: Andy Lee, Asher Keddie, Julia Morris, Larry Emdur, Robert Irwin, Sonia Kruger and Tony Armstrong. These nominees had different kinds of on-screen work and public visibility, but the available coverage does not provide a common measure—such as polling or audience figures—to compare their support.
- Andy Lee
- Asher Keddie
- Julia Morris
- Larry Emdur
- Robert Irwin
- Sonia Kruger
- Tony Armstrong
Sonia Kruger was the only nominee identified in the pre-event explainer as a previous Gold Logie winner; she had won in 2023. Tony Armstrong had also won the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter in 2023 and was nominated for that category again in 2024. Those records add context, but do not establish who was most likely to win the Gold.
How was the Gold Logie decided?
ABC’s pre-event explainer said the Gold Logie and some other awards were decided by public vote alone. Most Logie winners, by contrast, were determined through a combination of jury scores, viewing data and public votes. For a Gold Logie form guide, that distinction makes public recognition relevant, but it does not make a prediction measurable without comparable polling or vote counts.

#1 Best Overall
- ALL-WEATHER MATCH BALL – Made to provide an impressive level of performance during wet-weather Aussie Rules football matches, this AFL game ball’s outer panels are manufactured from synthetic leather. This high-quality material creates an AFL game ball which will not absorb liquids, making it suitable for use on water logged pitches.
- FOAM AND COTTON BACKING – To help this ball maintain its shape and size during intense AFL matches, this ball’s outer panels are backed with multiple layers of polyester and cotton canvas. These hard-wearing components work together to ensure your AFL match ball remains within official sizing regulations.
- ELITE TEXTURE GRIP – Players will not struggle to keep a hold of this AFL match ball thanks to its elite texture grip. This textured panelling ensures the number of times players surrender possession during competitive Aussie Rules football matches is significantly reduced.
- HI-TECH LATEX BLADDER – Once inflated to an air pressure level between 9 – 10 PSI, this Aussie Rules match ball will retain air for an impressive level of time thanks to its hi-tech latex bladder. This hard-wearing component greatly reduces the number of times you need to pump this game ball up throughout the season.
- 100% HAND STITCHED – To negate the risk of potential panel separation, this AFL Football’s stitching is done by hand. This premium finish creates a tightly-bound Aussie Rules football which will maintain a consistent ball flight regardless of how many times it is used.
No contemporaneous polling, betting odds, social-media metrics or candidate-by-candidate popularity figures were established in the cited coverage. Any pre-event ranking would therefore have been a qualitative guess rather than a data-backed forecast.
What happened at the 2024 Logies?
The 64th TV Week Logie Awards were held in Sydney on Sunday 18 August 2024, with comedian Sam Pang as host. ABC’s pre-event coverage said Channel Seven would broadcast the ceremony free-to-air and 7Plus would stream it; those were arrangements for that event, not current viewing instructions.
