She was describing her own experience, not making a claim about every adult-film production.
What did Caitlin Stasey say about working in porn?
“Honestly, the content is pretty intense,” Stasey said in an interview on I’ve Got News For You, hosted by Andrew Bucklow. She added: “But, it runs just like any other film set.” LADbible’s account of the interview also quotes her describing the sets she was part of or led as “really warm and kind and patient.”
The distinction is central to her comments: she called the subject matter intense while comparing the production process and set environment with familiar filmmaking routines. Her description reflects the sets she worked on, rather than an independently established picture of the adult-film industry as a whole.
What films did she direct?
A PerthNow report published 20 March 2023 said Stasey took a break from acting in 2021 to direct erotic films, worked for a short period with the female-owned company Afterglow, and released a handful of films. The report identifies Eau de P***y, released in December 2021 in collaboration with XConfessions.

Stasey described its starting point as “the concept of a perfume commercial that then becomes a lesbian threesome.” The idea drew on the familiar form of a perfume advertisement before turning toward the film’s sexual scenario.
How did she describe the director’s role?
Stasey said directing was challenging because it meant taking responsibility for the group and its work. “When you’re a director – you are judge, jury and executioner,” she said, according to LADbible. She also said she believed there were more female directors in pornography than in mainstream film and television. The reports provide no figures or independent data to establish that comparison, so it should be understood as her expressed belief, not a verified statistic.
