The group released “Private Show” in May 2026 and a Christmas EP at the end of 2025. That is separate from the fate of Building the Band: TV Insider reported in June 2026 that the Netflix competition would not return for a second season.
Is SZN4 still together?
As of TV Insider’s July 2, 2026 update, SZN4 was still together. The four members are Donzell Taggart, Aaliyah Larsen, Cameron Goode, and Katie Roeder. The update reported that the group released the single “Private Show” in May 2026 and had put out a Christmas EP at the end of 2025. TV Insider’s group-status update
That dated report establishes the band’s status at the time of publication; it does not confirm what may have happened after July 2, 2026.
Did Building the Band get canceled?
Yes. TV Insider reported on June 26, 2026 that Building the Band would not return for Season 2. SZN4’s continuation as a group is a separate matter: the cancellation ended the competition series, not necessarily the band formed on it. TV Insider’s report on the series
#1 Best Overall
- Fast-Paced Singing Challenge:Flip a prompt card, think of a matching song, and sing fast. Anyone can jump in and take over mid-song. The player holding the microphone when the spinning timer stops wins the round.
- Spinning Record Timer Adds Suspense:The record-shaped timer stops at random times, so every round is unpredictable. No one knows when it will end, keeping all players on edge and engaged throughout the game.
- No Singing Talent Required:Designed for bad singers, shy guests, and confident performers alike. Open-ended song prompts let players choose any track they know, from classic hits to holiday favorites, making it easy for everyone to participate.
- Complete Game Set for 2-12 Players:Includes 1 plastic microphone, 150 prompt cards, mute & solo token, spinning record timer, and instructions. Designed for ages 8 and up. Supports small groups and large parties.
- Great for Holiday Parties & Family Fun:Works for Christmas, Halloween, New Year's Eve, birthdays, girls' nights, and family gatherings. Gets everyone laughing, singing, and taking turns with the microphone together.
SZN4 finished as runner-up to 3QUENCY in the Season 1 finale. The show had brought together singers who formed groups without seeing one another during the initial process; Netflix’s catalog describes the series and its premise, though availability can vary by territory. Why did SZN4’s future seem uncertain?
The members’ own post-finale comments described a group still figuring out how to work together, rather than announcing a breakup. In a Netflix Tudum interview published November 26, 2025, Cameron Goode said, “We don’t have a blueprint.” He also said, “Even when it comes down to the music, we’re still learning each other’s voices and figuring out how we can make a story and how our stories connect.” Netflix Tudum’s interview with SZN4

The interview framed that uncertainty as part of developing the band. Members were learning how their voices and individual stories fit together, while also facing practical hurdles: they lived in four different states and had to plan around travel costs and their existing lives. The comments reflect their circumstances in late 2025, not a current statement about the group’s plans.
What does “fans are torn” mean here?
There is no representative poll or named statistic in the available reporting that measures fan opinion about SZN4’s fate. TV Insider’s cancellation coverage included individual comments supporting the show, but those reactions concerned the series ending; they do not establish a broad or divided consensus about whether SZN4 should continue. The title’s “torn” framing should therefore be read as a description of uncertainty around the group’s future, not as a measured fan verdict.

Keep the show’s result separate from SZN4’s outcome
Building the Band featured 50 up-and-coming artists and offered a $500,000 prize, according to the Associated Press’s July 22, 2025 report. Those figures describe the competition. SZN4 did not win the finale; 3QUENCY did, so the prize should not be attributed to SZN4. Associated Press report on Building the Band
