Amazon-reported figures put Fallout in second place on Prime Video during its first 16 days, behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. That is a launch-period ranking—not a timeless, independently audited all-time count. Later reports give different rankings for individual seasons and use different measurement windows.
Is Fallout Prime Video’s second most-watched show ever?
In an April 29, 2024 report, TheWrap reported that Fallout had drawn more than 65 million viewers in its first 16 days on Prime Video. TheWrap attributed the figure to Amazon’s internal data and said the series ranked second among Prime Video titles over that period, behind The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
So the careful answer is: Fallout was reported as Prime Video’s second most-watched title during its first 16 days. The claim does not establish an unrestricted all-time ranking across every show and measurement period, nor does it represent an independently audited count.
How many people watched Fallout?
Amazon-reported figures cited by TheWrap put Fallout above 65 million viewers globally in its first 16 days. That is a platform-reported viewer count for a specific launch window; it is not a count of viewing hours or minutes.

A separate measure comes from Nielsen. Its 2025 2024 Streaming Unwrapped report estimated that Fallout generated 11.95 billion U.S. viewing minutes during calendar 2024, placing it fifth among streaming originals for the year. Nielsen’s figure is based on U.S. television-panel viewing and covers a calendar year, so it cannot be added to or directly compared with Amazon’s worldwide first-16-days viewer figure.
Why The Rings of Power is the comparison
The Rings of Power was the title ahead of Fallout in the reported first-16-days ranking. Amazon has published separate audience figures for its fantasy series, but those figures use different time windows and do not provide a like-for-like first-16-days comparison.

Amazon said in 2024 that The Rings of Power season one had been viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide. Amazon Ads also cited 25 million worldwide viewers on the series’ first day and later reported more than 100 million total viewers. Those company figures offer context for the scale of the show, but they do not establish a direct comparison with Fallout’s 16-day count.
What later Fallout rankings say
Rankings shifted as new seasons arrived, and the reported unit matters: a list of seasons is not the same as a list of series.

Season two’s four-week ranking
In a January 21, 2026 report, TheWrap said Prime Video ranked Fallout season two sixth among its seasons after the season’s first four weeks. The report placed it behind Fallout season one, Reacher seasons two and three, and The Rings of Power seasons one and two. Amazon did not provide exact viewing figures for season two in that report.
The franchise’s later 91-day audience claim
A later TheWrap report, covering the first 91 days after season two’s December premiere, said more than 100 million viewers globally had engaged with seasons one and two. It also described season one as remaining second among Prime Video series, behind The Rings of Power. This is a later, differently framed update—not evidence that season two itself displaced the leader or took second place in an all-time season ranking.

How to read the numbers
These figures answer different questions. The first-16-days claim counts viewers for a launch period; Nielsen reports U.S. viewing minutes across a calendar year; and the later Prime Video rankings refer to seasons over specified windows. Their geographies, units, time spans, ranking categories, and sources differ. Treating them as one continuous chart would make the comparisons misleading.
Fallout’s connection to the games
The television series adapts the Fallout video-game franchise associated with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. TheWrap’s 2024 report identifies those companies in connection with the series. Readers curious about the source material can explore the report’s discussion of the franchise; specific game editions, platforms, and current availability vary and are not established by the audience rankings.
