Anime Expo 2025 brought a slate of anime teasers, sequel updates, game reveals, premieres and merchandise news to Los Angeles from July 3–6. This is a curated roundup of the event’s prominent announcements and showcases—not a catalog of every panel, booth reveal or scheduled activity.
Anime announcements and updates
The news ranged from newly announced projects to trailers and previews for series already in development. The distinction matters: a new trailer is a fresh look at a known project, not necessarily an announcement that the project exists.
| Title | What was revealed |
|---|---|
| The Ghost in the Shell | Science SARU showed a teaser and visual for a new TV anime. |
| Project M | CyberAgent announced a new original anime on July 2, just before the convention, with a teaser visual. |
| Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 | The sequel was announced July 4, and a teaser followed July 5. |
| Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc | MAPPA revealed a main trailer. The expo schedule also listed a MAPPA panel about the film. |
| Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End season 2 | A first teaser trailer was shown. The 2025 announcement materials gave a January 2026 window and said Crunchyroll would stream the season; those were plans reported at the time, not confirmation of present availability. |
| BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War Part 4 – The Calamity | VIZ reported a teaser visual confirming a 2026 airing. The roundup also noted the installment’s title and additional anime-original characters. |
| JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run | The main staff were revealed, with further news planned for a later special event. |
| The Vermillion Mask | An anime adaptation was announced with initial staff information and teaser materials. |
| Reincarnated as a Sword season 2 | A new visual was shown, with a Fall 2026 window reported. |
| BEASTARS Final Season Part 2 | A new visual was shown, with a 2026 window reported. |
| Record of Ragnarok season 3 | A trailer and key visual were shown. The 2025 roundup associated the season with a December 2025 Netflix release window. |
| KILLTUBE | The original anime project presented a key visual, voice cast and development video. |
| BLACK TORCH | The anime revealed its main voice cast and a character trailer. |
| Fist of the North Star | A new anime showed its first trailer and main voice cast. A 2026 window had already been announced before the expo. |
| Rooster Fighter | A trailer and key visual accompanied a Spring 2026 release window. |
| Re:ZERO season 4 | Sequel news and Crunchyroll distribution or streaming plans were reported. |
| Classroom of the Elite season 4 | Sequel news and Crunchyroll distribution or streaming plans were reported. |
| Black Clover season 2 | Sequel news and Crunchyroll distribution or streaming plans were reported. |
| Mushoku Tensei season 3 | Sequel news and Crunchyroll distribution or streaming plans were reported. |
| Daemons of the Shadow Realm | An anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s manga was announced. |
| You and I Are Polar Opposites | A trailer and cast update were reported. |
| BLADE & BASTARD | A cast trailer was reported. |
| The Holy Grail of Eris | A trailer and 2026 premiere window were reported. |
| Ascendance of a Bookworm season 4 | A teaser visual and trailer were reported, along with a Spring 2026 window. The announcement came during YTV’s panel. |
| Kaiju No. 8 season 2 | The expo program included a panel with a preview of the first episode and a live-dubbing performance. |
| Eisen Flügel | The film adaptation showed a trailer and key visual. The event roundup reported that no release date had been announced at the time. |
| GeeXProductions projects | GeeXPlus announced GeeXProductions and projects including Gigguk’s anime short film Bâan – The Boundaries of Adulthood, DillonGoo’s Soul Mart and OtakuVS’s Otachan. USC Annenberg described Bâan as an isekai film drawing on Thai and Southeast Asian mythology, and Soul Mart as a 3D Blender animation and manga series. |
| SANDA | The first episode had its world premiere at the expo. The event roundup reported Titan Manga’s English manga release date as September 2, 2025. |
Game reveals and showcases
Games were part of the convention news alongside anime. Bandai Namco’s July 2 showcase took place immediately before Anime Expo’s July 3 opening, so its reveals are part of the surrounding event coverage rather than announcements made during a convention panel.
- MY HERO ACADEMIA: ALL’S JUSTICE: Bandai Namco announced a 3D arena fighter based on the franchise and set during its Final War arc.
- Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree: The showcase presented this original roguelite with character trailers and gameplay details.
- Other game programming: The official schedule listed a Persona 5: The Phantom X panel celebrating the game’s global release and a Spike Chunsoft panel introducing its 2025 lineup, including SHUTEN ORDER and No Sleep For Kaname Date – From AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES.
Premieres and screenings
Not every headline was a production announcement. Some were event screenings or previews of projects already on the way.

- A set of 2 volumes of Point Character Drawing Books
- Gachiakuta: The program included a creator panel and an exclusive US premiere of the first two episodes. The premiere was a showcase of an upcoming adaptation, not its initial announcement.
- Leviathan: Anime Expo billed the series as a world premiere ahead of its global Netflix debut on July 10, 2025.
- SANDA: Its first episode also received a world premiere at the expo, as noted above.
- Kaiju No. 8 season 2: The panel included a first-episode preview as well as a live-dubbing performance.
Manga, merchandise and demos
VIZ Media’s report highlighted activity at its own Shonen Jump pop-up shop; it should not be read as a complete inventory of exhibitors or products across the convention.
- Limited-edition Dandadan and Kagurabachi collections, alongside rare JUMP Shop Japan items.
- Anime apparel and new Bandai Figuarts figures.
- A preview and preorder for a Dan Da Dan Funko POP! collection.
- Union Arena trading-card-game demos and giveaways.
How large was Anime Expo 2025?
In its July 2025 wrap-up, Anime Expo reported over 410,000 turnstile attendance, attendees from more than 65 countries, more than 1,300 hours of programming and an estimated local economic impact above $110 million. These are organizer-reported figures; the report did not describe them as independently audited.
