“Covered,” FBI Season 7, Episode 16, centers on a dangerous breach: after an undercover agent is killed, the team discovers that multiple agents’ identities have been exposed, including Maggie’s while she is infiltrating an eco-terrorist group. The episode also introduces Dani Rhodes as a possible addition to the New York team. Its key question is whether that character thread has room to develop alongside a case built around immediate risk.

What is “Covered” about?

CBS lists “Covered” as Season 7, Episode 16, which aired April 1, 2025. The official synopsis establishes the central threat: an undercover FBI agent is killed in the field, and the team learns multiple undercover identities have been compromised. Maggie is among those at risk while working to infiltrate an eco-terrorist group. CBS’s episode listing provides the premise and names Paramount+ as a viewing option.

That setup gives the case a clear source of urgency: the danger is not confined to one operation if multiple identities have been exposed. The available episode-specific information does not establish the full sequence of events or the ending, so this review focuses on the premise and the reported character arc rather than presenting a scene-by-scene recap.

How does Dani Rhodes fit into the episode?

Dani Rhodes enters the story as a possible answer to the opening left by Special Agent Tiffany Wallace’s departure. TVLine’s April 2, 2025, episode coverage reports that Rhodes has worked successive undercover operations on her own and does not immediately operate as part of a team. She clashes with Scola after taking the initiative during a foot chase, then comes to appreciate the New York field office’s sense of “family” by the episode’s end. TVLine’s report on Rhodes supplies those character beats.

#1 Best Overall

The useful review question is not simply whether Rhodes seems like a better replacement. It is whether the episode gives her movement toward the team enough grounding to feel earned. Her independent working style can create friction with Scola, but that friction needs to reveal something about how she and the team operate—not merely announce a new personality for the roster.

Does the character story compete with the case?

The episode’s two main strands pull in different directions. The compromised undercover identities and Maggie’s assignment provide immediate stakes; Rhodes’s introduction asks viewers to invest in a longer-term question of team chemistry. The case premise is inherently broad, while Rhodes’s reported change in attitude moves from independence and conflict toward a sense of belonging.

That contrast offers a useful way to assess the episode’s pacing: does the case leave enough space for Rhodes to register as a character, and does her development feel connected to the team dynamics around Scola? The confirmed beats establish the setup and direction, but they do not by themselves prove how successfully the episode balances those strands.
