The Pokémon Day 2026 Pokémon Presents, hosted by The Pokémon Company President and CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara, revealed the next mainline Pokémon games, several releases and rereleases, anniversary merchandise, and updates across the franchise’s games and events. The Pokémon Company International’s recap, published February 27, 2026, described some items as future plans and others as activities already underway; the dates below reflect what was announced at the broadcast.
Upcoming games and rereleases announced
The presentation included games for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as a new title available through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack. The table summarizes the platform and timing stated in the February 27 recap; it does not imply that a planned release subsequently took place.
| Game | Platform or access | Timing announced |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves | Nintendo Switch 2, exclusive | Global simultaneous launch planned for 2027 |
| Pokémon Champions | Nintendo Switch | April 2026 |
| Pokémon Pokopia | Not stated in the recap | March 5, 2026 |
| Pokémon FireRed Version and Pokémon LeafGreen Version | Nintendo Switch family of systems | Not stated in the recap |
| Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness | Nintendo Switch 2, through Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack | March 2026 |
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves
The two announced entries in the Pokémon RPG series share a platform and a planned 2027 global simultaneous launch. The first look showed the protagonists, two specially designed Pikachu, and the new first partner Pokémon. The setting was described as an open world of windswept islands and an ocean of glittering waves.
The recap did not specify version-exclusive Pokémon, locations, or features. It is therefore too early to distinguish the games on those grounds; the confirmed comparison is that both are planned for Nintendo Switch 2 and the same launch window.

What the presentation established—and what it left open
The biggest forward-looking reveal was the Switch 2-exclusive pair Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, with a shared planned launch year and no announced version-exclusive details. Other announcements ranged from dated game releases to returning older titles, a planned subscription-library addition, anniversary merchandise, competition plans, and live-service events. For the latter, the Pokémon Company International’s February 27 recap provides the announcement details, but where it gives no final product list, retailer, or version difference, those specifics remain unstated.
