After passing the bar in Season 3, she is a criminal defense attorney in her own right—and when Mickey goes on trial, she has to balance her own clients with the firm’s operations and the fight to help him.
How Lorna became an attorney
Lorna’s change is the payoff to a career arc that began with her keeping Mickey’s practice running. In Season 1 she works as his legal assistant; in Season 2 she returns to law school to finish her degree; and in Season 3 she passes the bar. By Season 4, Netflix describes her as a criminal defense attorney and an associate at Haller & Associates. Netflix Tudum’s Lorna guide traces that progression.

The new title does not make her an instantly seasoned lawyer. Co-showrunners Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez say she will make rookie mistakes while bringing her street smarts and distinctive style to a career that is just beginning. The point is not that Lorna has suddenly mastered every part of the job; it is that she is now responsible for learning it while the firm faces its biggest crisis. Netflix’s Season 4 cast guide describes her early learning curve.
Why Mickey’s trial puts her new role under pressure
Season 4 adapts Michael Connelly’s sixth Lincoln Lawyer novel, The Law of Innocence. Mickey is accused of murdering former client Sam Scales and must prove his innocence. With Mickey on trial, the lawyer who once depended on him for work has to help keep the practice functioning while also supporting his defense. Netflix describes the season as a 10-episode story; it began streaming on Feb. 5, 2026. Netflix Tudum’s season announcement gives the release details, and the Netflix Media Center series page identifies the source novel and premise.

- A lawyer defending a wealthy man begins to believe his client is guilty of more than just one crime.
She carries clients, operations and the investigation
Lorna has to manage Mickey’s clients, the office and its finances while contributing to the investigation surrounding his case. Season 4 also gives her a client of her own: Celeste Baker, played by Kyle Richards, hires Lorna for a divorce after a referral from a satisfied client. That case makes the shift concrete: Lorna is not merely helping someone else’s practice survive; she is building a legal practice of her own.
She learns to share the work
At first, Lorna tries to shoulder too much. She encourages Mickey’s first ex-wife, prosecutor Maggie McPherson, to appear as a character witness at his bail hearing, then asks Maggie to take over Mickey’s case so Lorna can keep up with her other responsibilities. Lorna remains involved in the broader effort, but recognizing that she cannot do every job at once is part of her growth as a lawyer and leader.

How Lorna protects Mickey and the firm
Lorna’s legal instincts show up in practical decisions, not just her new job title. Suspecting that deputies are listening to her calls with Mickey, she intercepts them to protect their attorney-client communications. She also presses the FBI when its reluctance to expose an ongoing investigation could interfere with Mickey’s trial. Both moments put her in the position of advocating for Mickey while navigating the institutional pressures surrounding his case. Netflix’s character guide describes these parts of her Season 4 story.
Her marriage to Cisco faces its own test
Lorna’s workload is not her only strain. Her husband, Dennis “Cisco” Wojciechowski, tails associates of Gazarian and puts himself at risk. Lorna worries about him, and the two clash over his priorities. Cisco eventually recognizes that his team includes Lorna—a reminder that the season tests their partnership alongside her professional one. Co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez summed up his realization this way: “He had to be reminded that he was part of a team,” followed by “and that team was Lorna.”

Her wardrobe signals the change, too
Lorna’s evolving workwear makes her career shift visible. Netflix Tudum’s costume-design feature describes her move toward colorful power suits, including a pink suit in Season 4, while preserving the boldness that distinguishes her style. Costume designer Beth Morgan says, “Lorna is always original and fearless when she gets dressed, and at the same time, her looks evolve with her.” The feature also notes a shocking-pink suit in a billboard scene and a tight black dress with an oversized zipper in another episode. Netflix Tudum’s wardrobe feature discusses the choices.

Season 4 makes Lorna’s advancement both a professional milestone and a capacity test. She has become an attorney with clients and responsibility of her own, but Mickey’s arrest forces her to learn when to step in, when to delegate and how to protect the firm under pressure. She does not simply replace Mickey as lead counsel; she becomes a more independent member of the team helping him fight his case.
