Industry will end with season 5. HBO has renewed the drama for a fifth and final season, filming began in the United Kingdom in August 2026, and the season is planned for eight episodes. HBO has not announced a premiere date. Casting reports name returning leads Myha’la and Marisa Abela alongside several new characters, but no complete cast list or detailed season 5 synopsis has been confirmed.
Is Industry renewed for season 5—and is it the final season?
Yes. HBO announced on 25 February 2026 that Industry was renewed for a fifth season, which will be the show’s last. The series is created by Mickey Down and Konrad Kay and produced by Bad Wolf for HBO and the BBC. HBO/Max’s renewal announcement framed the order as the conclusion of the story.
Down and Kay said they wanted to decide where the series ends rather than continue indefinitely. As quoted in English by TV Insider, they said: “For some time now, we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party.”
When will season 5 be released?
HBO has not announced a premiere date. TV Insider reported on 3 August 2026 that filming had begun in the United Kingdom during the first week of August and that the season is planned for eight episodes. That production update does not establish when the episodes will air.

In its 3 August 2026 production update, TV Insider reported two figures attributed to HBO:
Best Value
- United States: an average of 1.7 million cross-platform viewers per episode. This is a U.S. per-episode average, not a season 5 audience figure.
- Global viewing: roughly 30% ahead of season 3. This is a global season-to-season comparison; it is distinct from the U.S. per-episode average.
Neither figure measures season 5, which had not yet aired in the reporting cited here.
